Women War Dance

Hello All,
This time I will share again about OLD WOMEN.

In one temple in Bali called "Pura Penataran Sasih", at Gianyar Regency, there is a special and unique sacred dance called "Perang Sampyan Dance".
Perang mean War and Sampyan mean ceremony paraphernalia that made of young coconut leaf.
The dance represent the heroic sense of the Balinese women and also it represent the gender equality.

There is something unique in this dance as you can see on the photos below that all participants must OLD WOMEN.
They prayed before the dance begin and at the end they will run around the temple while hold young coconut leaf as a symbolic of weapon.
