That moment for which we had prepared for so many years has arrived. We didn't see it coming, but it came. Immediately after the first rumbles, the alarm was sounded. The one that serves as an announcement of bloodshed, of destruction, the one that we never wanted to hear more than in training. But there it is, and its call must be heeded. My heart accelerated, thinking at some point that it could be one of those practices that we did so much, but no, it is not, it is real, it is time to leave.

I will go out, although I have no idea if I will ever cross the door of my home again, of my house, but I have to go, it is my duty, it is something I cannot escape, while I run to put on my uniform and go out a great noise can be heard accompanied by a great tremor that felt as if I was breaking my house in two, it was such an impact that knocked me down, but I immediately got up from a great impulse, I cannot give myself the luxury of feeling knocked down, much less before going out.

When I left my room, I could not help but be moved by the sight of my mother and sister. They knew I had to leave, that there was no way I would stop, but they also knew that it might be the last time our eyes would cross. So before I left, I preferred not to approach them, and just say "I'll be right back", as I walked out the door without looking back.

I prepared myself for this moment, to go into battle, but I never prepared myself to say goodbye on an occasion like this that could be the last goodbye. But even thinking about it makes it more difficult. I prefer to focus on going forward, to look for my weapons, because without a doubt... the war has begun.
