No Fixed Course - Glimpses of a civilization - Fiction Inspired in digital art by @xpilar
It has been some time since I wrote a story based on an image from my friend @xpilar, this time I would like to share a story that I created based on the following image...
A group of people left in a small sailboat to travel the sea for a few days, without a fixed destination, only to sail, they left with food for a few weeks, also with implements for fishing, enough water, evidently, to avoid running out of this vital liquid. So one morning they left in their ship without a fixed destination.
They have sailed for days, everything has been laughter, they have even been able to stop at times and throw the whole group into the water to swim and share in the sea, without the slightest trace of contamination. There are 6 people, 3 couples, Carlos and Shamanta, Peter and Evelin, Carmen and Mary, all friends since childhood.
Three days had passed when a storm was approaching, they were not really aware of any kind of news, so they did not realize what was coming. So it caught them totally off guard. They could only realize it when the strong winds started to hit the boat and move them very fast because of the momentum the gusts of wind gave to the sails.
It was night, so they had no idea where they were heading, just as they had thought, without a fixed course, but guided by a natural force they could not control. Inside the boat, fear took hold of them, tears began to flow from their eyes, they had no idea what would happen, neither the men nor the women could stop thinking that the worst could happen, this feeling that they had reached the end of their days remained for a couple of hours, while the boat moved over the sea with great speed.
After these hours, little by little everything was returning to calm, at least in terms of the natural, because the boat itself, although it kept the sails intact, internally was a disaster, everything was scattered on the floor of the boat, but the 6 crew members were healthy, only with some bruises, as a result of the attacks suffered by the boat.
It was still dark when the storm ceased, but as dawn began to break and the storm disappeared completely, they went out to the bow, only to realize that they had reached a place that did not appear on any map, they had no idea where they were, and the compasses were totally misplaced, they did not mark a north or south, or anything like that, they were there in the middle of the ocean, in a place with vestiges of a civilization, to which they arrived carried by the storm, after leaving without a fixed direction.
