Once more, I am opportune to be participating in this contest in WORLD OF XPILAR by @adeljose. I enjoy this contest because I always want to know how much I can write.

So, the theme for this contest is BEHIND MASKS. Seat through to read my article and do well to comment on how well or bad the article is thank you.

THE STORY

Joy was a beautiful and wealthy girl, she was the only daughter of Mr. Williams and all her father's inheritance was willed to her after the death of her parents but Joy has been having heartbreaks and bad relationships. I would say she has been unlucky so far in relationships because every guy who came her way, came to date her because of what she can offer to them after getting what they want, they ended up dumping her.

It was obvious that they came her way because of her father's influence and money. Joy was heartbroken that she couldn't think of what to do. her last relationship almost choked the life out of her as she couldn't believe her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend.

It was obvious her wealth won't help her get her dream spouse as she so much believed in love and happy endings. She realized that many of her so-called friends were not genuine but came around her all for the sake of her money.

One day she decided to do what no insane person would love to do. While at work, she pretended to behave abnormally like she had some mental issue and was rushed to the physiatric hospital for treatment.

The nurses and doctors tried all they could to retain and tame her down but they couldn't so most of them behaved and treated her rudely because she had no one to come check on her for the one month she has been in the hospital.

Joy was already given up on life and the hope of ever finding good and genuine people in it that she began to act abnormally and this time, it was obvious she was mentally ill when the hospital decided to transfer a new doctor to the ward she stays.

The young doctor took interest in joy and always paid so much attention to her case till he was sure, she was okay and stable to go back home.

Joy rented a new and small house in the outskirts of the town pretending to be indeed poor so she could know if the doctor was a good person. The doctor who knew nothing about joy and her background became the only and true friend of joy that he always came around to check on her believing all the fake stories Joy told him about herself and her poor background. The doctor began to fall in love with Joy and wished to spend the rest of his life with her without caring about her family or poor background.

One day, the town Joy lives in had an event called Auction Day, and Joy was to attend in her real regally as a wealthy person she was. Coincidentally, the doctor already told her, that he would be going to the event since he was also one of the wealthy doctors in the community.

Although no one knew that the wealthy and only daughter of Late Mr. Williams lived in their community since the invitation was sent to her email.

The D-day came for the event to take place while the Doctor called her to tell her he was heading to the event, Joy journey back to her former home, and dressed like the daughter of the wealthy man she was known to be to attend the event. Fortunately, the rules of the event were that everyone was to be Behind a Mask, so no one gets to see who bids the highest auction. Now that was for security reasons.

Joy entered into the event with a grand-style as she was welcomed by the hots and ushered a sit with a handsome man who was also wearing a mask. Joy could detect the man she was sitting with to be Yemi her doctor and friend.

She decided to do what she planned to do to test how much he was genuine and loved her. She began to make advances at him but unfortunately, the doctor wasn't in the mood and after several failed attempts by Joy to get his attention, the doctor stood up and headed for the toilet.

Without realizing Joy was trailing behind, she sneaked into the toilet and pretend to be making sexual advances to him but the doctor just wasn't happy, he was worried as he tried reaching to Joy but couldn't reach her phone.

He walked out of the toilet pretending not to notice the woman trailing behind. When he sat down, he warned her to stay away from him because he wasn't interested in her.

Joy tried finding out what the problem was and why he was not happy, then he told her that he couldn't reach his girlfriend. Joy asked her what her name was and he replied Joy. he went ahead to show her the picture and confesses to her how much he loves this girl and would love to spend the rest of his life with her.

Yemi never knew he was confessing his love to the same woman. he went on talking about the things he loved about this lady that he was so engrossed in the conversation

Joy was very happy hearing this from Yemi behind the mask that she couldn't contain her happiness anymore that she did not realize when she took off her mask.

Yemi who was so engrossed did not notice that the woman in front of him had already removed her mask and was looking at him with so much happiness. When he turned to check if she was still listening to him, that was when he was surprised to see the face staring at him. It was no other than his love.

Joy!, the doctor exclaimed, what are you doing here? Joy was able to beg the doctor not to make a scene while she narrated her story to him. The doctor was surprised but also happy he did not make advances to the woman BEHIND THE MASK because he would have lost his Joy if he had done that.

After the event, the doctor took Joy for a date and proposed to her to which she accepted and married the doctor. Joy was happy she made the decision and happy that she found her love and her happy ever after ending.
