Tuna Meatballs, Lets Do it at Home!

The last few days after seeing a variety of snacks recipes on Facebook wall, I also tried to make meatballs that use basic ingredients Tofu. But I modified the recipe, which I learned from the recipe divider to make meatballs made from tofu, because I don't like tofu, I only use ingredients from Tuna and Milkfish.

In recent of weeks, the price of Tuna is still standard and relatively cheap in my area, considering that using more expensive meat-based ingredients, mom's economic theory, it may be possible to look for more efficiency in terms of budget.

And it turns out it's not too difficult to try to make snacks at home, besides the recipes are available and the ingredients are cheap, why not try it by your self, right?

Ingredients for making "Tuna and Milkfish Meatballs"

  • Tuna and milkfish (500 grams / half pound size both.
  • Starch (15 grams)
  • Eggs (1 item)
  • Garlic (4 cloves), crushed first
  • Fried shallots (2 tablespoons) to make it fragrant, if not available, you can replace the saladri.
  • Pepper powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Water (1 liter)
  • Ice cubes (40 grams), or 2-4 small ice cubes so that being the meat of fish is not too crushed in the blender, which causes the meatballs become soggy later.

  • because we don't use meat, we can use packaged beef broth, optional.
  • Garlic (7 cloves), fried, puree
  • Shallots (5 cloves), fried, puree
  • Leeks (3 stems), select the base and thinly sliced
  • Sugar (2 teaspoons)
  • Salt (2 tablespoons)
  • Pepper powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Water (3 liters)

To make the above ingredients, maybe at a glance it looks easy to understand right, the problem is if you want to make home meatballs, it is usually constrained by how to make the meatball spheres. Well, I will also give you a way to make meatballs here to Hiver friends to complete the recipe.

How to make meatball balls

  • Prepare enough containers as a place to mix all the meatballs.
  • add the meat of the tuna and milkfish that have been ground into a batter container
  • Mix starch, eggs, salt, pepper, fine garlic and fried shallots
  • Knead by hand until evenly and perfectly mixed.
  • If the mixture is still too soft, add ice cubes or use ice water slowly.
  • Boil water in a saucepan until it boils.
  • Form the meatball dough into a round or like a ball with both hands,
  • Or with one hand holding the dough and pressing until the dough pops out through between the index finger and thumb,
  • Take the dough from the hands, and put it in or dip it off in hot water.

Note that every meatball has floated, must be immediately lifted and drained, so as not to get in too soft or overripe.

How to make Meatball Sauce

  • Boil water in a large or steamed pan
  • After boiling, mix all the ingredients to make soup and stir until thoroughly mixed
  • Let stand until boiling again, make sure the scent of beef broth until obvious.
