Writing competition #129 / Planet X / These beings became stupid

Once upon a time there was a world called Planet X, where life forms were similar to those on planet Earth. There, evolution gave rise to beings similar to man in terms of intelligence, due to which they reached a high technological development.

But the day came when they began to scrutinize with their sophisticated devices all the radio signals coming from outer space, and they were astonished to detect all the images that came from a small planet located in the Milky Way.

All those beings were enthralled with all the information that came to them from Earth, and they did nothing but observe all that. Finally they dedicated themselves to seeing mostly pornographic images and movies, because it was what they liked the most, and then they changed the name of their world, now they called it Planet XXX.

A few years later these beings became stupid and suddenly detonated a nuclear bomb that disappeared them from the universe.
