Ich bin sprachlos und das kommt selten vor!
Vor fast vier Wochen habe ich einen Post gemacht über die Notlage unseres Freundes und Helfers Bosco aus Uganda.

Er mußte aus seinem Haus raus, weil sein Vermieter dort ein besseres Haus bauen will, daß sich Bosco dann aber nicht mehr leisten kann.

Bosco hatte das Wochen zuvor nur kurz erwähnt und dann nicht mehr darüber gesprochen.
Ich fragte ihn nach seiner Situation.
Er berichtete mir, daß er Angst vor Obdachlosigkeit hat, daß sein ehemaliger Vermieter ihm zwar woanders zwei Räume zur Verfügung gestellt hat, aber daß die ganze Familie (5 Personen) dort kein Platz hat.
Er war verzweifelt.
Mal abgesehen von den Hotelanlagen, wohnen am Lake Bunyonyi hauptsächlich die armen Bauern.
Wer Glück hat besitzt ein Stück Land. Die Häuser bestehen oft nicht aus Steinen, sondern aus Lehm und Ästen.
Es gibt weder Wasser noch Strom in den Häusern und die Toilette ist meist ein Loch im Boden neben dem Haus mit einem Sichtschutz.

Bosco hat ein kleines Stückchen Land auf der anderen Seite des Sees,
oben auf dem Hügel.
Wir wußten das und ich fragte ihn, ob es möglich wäre, dort ein Haus zu bauen.
Er sagte ja, aber das er dafür kein Geld hat.

Ich sagte ihm, es gibt immer eine Lösung, machte ihm Mut und schlug ihm vor, diesmal für ihn zu sammeln.
Ohne ihn könnten wir in Uganda garnichts machen, wir brauchen eine Vertrauensperson und das ist unser Bosco.
Und wir dachten, es kann nicht sein, daß er dauernd damit beschäftigt ist, das Leben von anderen Familien zu verbessern und jetzt in solchen Verhältnissen leben soll.
Voraussetzung war natürlich das er seine persönliche Situation öffentlich machen muß, was natürlich nicht einfach ist.
Er hat sowieso schon einige Neidprobleme in seiner Community, weil er mit uns zusammenarbeitet, aber er war einverstanden.
Wir haben ihm aber gesagt, daß es auch sein kann, daß es nicht klappt.

Da wir letztes Jahr das Haus für Milica und ihre Famile gebaut haben (vielleicht erinnert ihr euch), haben wir ja schon Erfahrung.

Ich habe also auf Steemit, Hive, Blurt und Facebook einen Post gemacht und um Spenden gebeten.
Es kam nicht viel....
Ich weiß, daß es immer ein Problem ist, Spenden zu sammeln,
wenn man keine Elendsbilder zeigt und Bosco's Situation war ja nicht bedrohlich.

Daraufhin haben wir eine Spendenaktion bei Facebook gestartet.
Ergebnis: 0,-€

Ich dachte, o.k., da brauchen wir wohl ein paar Monate zum Sammeln.
Wir schickten 600,-€ rüber und Bosco kaufte Steine und Holz.

Ich bekam einen Anruf von Frank (er hatte letztes Jahr mit mir das Interview gemacht).
Er fragte mich, ob ich einen Stand auf dem Duisburger Weihnachtsmarkt machen möchte (Ugandaprojekt plus meine Kunst).
Ich habe natürlich zugesagt und stehe nun da am 11. und 12. Dezember, falls der Markt nicht wegen hoher Coronazahlen geschlossen wird.
Die Hoffnung war geboren, doch noch etwas Geld zu sammeln...

Bosco schickte mir die Fotos und ich machte meinen letzten Post.
Und dann floss sie plötzlich doch noch, die gute Energie, die Gemeinschaft, die Mitmenschlichkeit...das Geld.....

Wir machen das jetzt in Uganda seit fünf Jahren.
Immer wieder gab es diese Momente, wo ich hier sitze, auf den PC glotze, sprachlos und gerührt bin.
Und immer wieder bestätigt sich diese Kraft, die von uns allen ausgeht, wir können so viel bewegen, wenn wir nur zusammenhalten.
Wir sind in der Lage, das Leben von anderen Menschen, die tausende Kilometer von uns entfernt sind, positiv zu beeinflussen oder sogar Träume zu erfüllen.

Heute also wieder so ein Tag!

I am speechless and that rarely happens!
Almost four weeks ago I made a post about the plight of our friend and helper Bosco from Uganda.

He had to move out of his house because his landlord wants to build a better house there, but Bosco can no longer afford it.

Bosco had mentioned this only briefly weeks before and then did not talk about it anymore.
I asked him about his situation.
He told me that he was afraid of homelessness, that his former landlord had given him two rooms somewhere else, but that there was no room for the whole family (5 people).
He was desperate.
Apart from the hotel facilities, Lake Bunyonyi is mainly inhabited by poor farmers.
Those who are lucky own a piece of land. The houses are often not made of stones, but of clay and branches.
There is neither water nor electricity in the houses and the toilet is usually a hole in the ground next to the house with a screen.

Bosco has a small piece of land on the other side of the lake,
up on the hill.
We knew that and I asked him if it would be possible to build a house there.
He said yes, but that he had no money for it.

I told him there is always a solution, encouraged him and suggested that this time we collect for him.
Without him we could not do anything in Uganda, we need a trusted person and that is our Bosco.
And we thought, it can't be that he is constantly busy improving the lives of other families and now has to live in such conditions.
The condition was of course that he must make his personal situation public, which of course is not easy.
He already has some envy problems in his community anyway because he works with us, but he agreed.
But we told him that it can also be that it does not work out.

Since we gave the house for Milica and her family last year (maybe you remember), we already have experience.

So I made a post on Steemit, Hive, Blurt and Facebook asking for donations.
Not much came....
I know that it is always a problem to collect donations if you don't show misery pictures and Bosco's situation was not threatening.

So we started a fundraising campaign on Facebook.
Result: 0,-€

I thought, o.k., we probably need a few months to collect.
We sent 600,-€ and Bosco bought stones and wood.

I got a call from Frank (he had done the interview with me last year).
He asked me if I would like to do a booth at the Duisburg Christmas Market
(Uganda project plus my art).
Of course I accepted and am now standing there on December 11 and 12, if the market is not closed because of high corona numbers.
Hope was born to raise some money after all....

Bosco sent me the photos and I made my last post.
And then suddenly it flowed after all, the good energy, the community, the humanity...the money.....

We've been doing this in Uganda for five years now.
Again and again there were these moments where I sit here, staring at the PC, speechless and moved.
And again and again this power is confirmed, which comes from all of us, we can move so much, if we only stick together.
We are able to positively influence the lives of others thousands of miles away from us, or even fulfill dreams.

So today is another one of those days!
