An old steel mill, Beethoven and light! - Ein altes Stahlwerk, Beethoven und Licht! (54 Photos)

I live in Duisburg (Germany). We have the "Landschaftspark Nord" in our city. This is an approximately 180 hectare site on which a former steel works is located. Even during the day it is an experience to take a trip there.
Many events usually take place there, but unfortunately a lot had to be canceled this Corona year or postponed until next year (e.g. the Traumzeit-Festival).
All the greater was the joy that the weekend before last the sound installation by the artist Werner Cee could take place.

It was actually planned for May as part of the Beethoven celebrations “BTHVN 2020”.
For a whole weekend, 60 hours long, fragments from Beethoven's sixth symphony, the “Pastorale”, played from over 100 sound sources at 13 stations.
The symphony was recorded by the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
At night the old blast furnace was lit up and in connection with the sounds of Beethoven it was a special experience.

Ich wohne in Duisburg (Germany). Wir haben in unserer Stadt den Landschaftspark Nord. Das ist ein ca. 180 Hektar großes Gelände, auf dem ein ehemaliges Hüttenwerk steht. Schon bei Tag ist es ein Erlebnis, einen Ausflug dorthin zu machen.
Viele Veranstaltungen finden dort normalerweise statt, aber in diesem Corona-Jahr mußte leider vieles ausfallen oder auf nächstes Jahr verschoben werden (z.B. das Traumzeit-Festival).
Umso größer war die Freude, daß vorletztes Wochenende doch noch die Soundinstallation des Künstlers Werner Cee stattfinden konnte.
Eigentlich war sie für Mai geplant im Rahmen der Beethoven-Feierlichkeiten „BTHVN 2020“.

Ein ganzes Wochenende, 60 Stunden lang, ertönten an 13 Stationen aus über 100 Klangquellen Fragmente aus Beethovens sechster Symphonie, der „Pastorale“.
Eingespielt wurde die Symphonie durch das Radio-Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
Nachts war die alte Hochofenanlage beleuchtet und in Verbindung mit den Klängen von Beethoven ein besonderes Erlebnis.

I found that very funny. At the other end of the hall was a guy who looked like he belonged to the installation.
But it was only a visitor.

Das fand ich sehr lustig. Am anderen Ende des Ganges stand ein Typ, der aussah, als gehörte er zur Installation.
Es war aber auch nur ein Besucher.
