The world inventions; The case and the history of the Sørlandschips!

You know, the owner and the bosses of Sørlandships looked to Canada to find better chips on the markets, than just Maarud or something else. And Maarud is just like cardboard in comparison. And therefore the chips called for Sørlandschips has been exposed for much experimentations to actions, settings and contexts, and this is where we have the best universities, business schools and colleges in the world. We should do something established and something new in the business life. And that is happening to all times anywhere. But the chips should be appreciated and liked in the markets with the people, and therefore we satisfaction of the taste and the ingredients should be better than any solutions before in the markets, in such cases that people love this chips. And the business life is just ideas which we can earn money on, and the more the money that is created, the better feelings there are in the group of bosses and the longer the company can be there.

Personally, me and my brother Bernt Mikal has met Leif Arne Bjerland, the ideamaker and the producer of Sørlandships. We met him in the light trail at Hellemyr, being located nearby Kristiansand, and it is defined as a place in Kristiansand. Leif Arne Bjerland told us that the chips that we found and still find in the markets were not the best of all conceivable. And the chips need to be better and more hard in their consistency, and there also needs to be more tastes of the chips in the markets, and the production should be secret, but one should follow the design of making the chips to make them as people like, and using just marketing research, investigations, and testing out what people like, and what they need to use in their homes, at parties, in schools, in firms and organizations, and when being travelling abroad. And this was how the history and the story of Sørlandschips was made.

So, there is competition in the markets about getting the best chips to the mouths and the bodies of people, and the better you like a product, the better feeling you are having. And when having products in the markets, we do not know whether we have the best product, and therefore there are still design, product development and product launching in the markets from time to time and from place to place. Product development is marketing, and it is about how we are making new products in the markets. And it often starts with the products we have nowadays, and that we are not satisfied, and that we want something better, and that is the history of all products, when we do not know how many competitors and equal products there are in the markets, and we always have depth and breadth of the products in the markets, and there are still some products we are using in the markets, that people are interested within and which they have needs for. And you should have marketing competence for doing this probably, and when we are just trying without competence, there is attempts for trying, and there are failures or successes in the markets. And people trying to convince you can be stupid or sensible in their moves and efforts, and such is it always to be engaged with people having competence, or not knowing about what to know.

The Sørlandschips started in 1990, and this firm history is extremely exciting! But we cannot do other things as humans as eating and drinking, and being satisfied with people and energy at home or at any other places. When one of the friends to Leif Arne Bjerland came home from a holiday in Canada was a heavy plastic bag the only thing he had with him. It was an early morning in July in 1990 at the airport Kjevik in Kristiansand. He came running in to the kiosk to Leif Arne, and he emptied the bag over the counter. The new chips! The plastic bag was completely full of chips. “But so take a taste then!”. He screamed enthusiastic, and he pushed the chips towards Leif Arne. And Leif Arne tasted the chips. He tasted the chips a little bit, and even more. And so he threw himself over the phone. Twenty minutes later there stood four comrades, and they crunched chips from Canada. Thick potato slices with peel, which were slow-cooked in small portions on extra weak heat, in properly peanut oil. “There is a little crooked way to travel to Canada every time that we want this chips”, one of them said when being a bit sad.

And so if the history and the story of Sørlandschips, and today we find the chips that we started with in the daily groceries, and the outlets, and we also find some younger variants, and there are still coming new variants to the markets. We wish the ideamaker, the marketing, the strategy, the information, and the economics good luck in the efforts that this company has in present and in the future! And we need distribution as political economies, when using the human assets in the markets, and taking the decisions on all levels in the organization.
