We have eaten venison that came from a farm in the Karoo district of Eastern Cape South Africa. Biltong is also made from the Springbok or Kudu. Dried meat is very popular, as a snack amongst South Africans.
Now we’re talking @dianadee I used to have a South African colleague, Simon. Pity they made him redundant. Covid-19 hit really hard all of us in the travel industry. Anyway, it is what it is. So Simon used to go home to South Africa for Christmas and New Year (probably, hopefully will still manage to go this year!) and was coming back with a selection of dried meats. Some tasted more spicy, others just peppery but all were top quality meat. Maybe you should photo some dried meats for @mister-omortson’s food contest 🤔 I’m sure other users would love to see traditional foods and it’s actually great so we get to know each other better 💁♀️

On a separate note, I saw in one of your recent posts that you’ve got Pointsettias living their best lives out there☝️What a massive difference sunny weather does 😱 I’ve got a potted Pointsettia here which I take out in the garden in summer. It’s now back indoors but it looks like it’s really struggling. It got colder here earlier this year and there was plenty of rain too. Still I’m the only person in our family to have kept a Pointsettia going for 3 years now 🙌
