The Beauty of a Construction site beyond concrete and steel

Well, I am a Civil Engineer who graduated from the University of Moratuwa. Just after graduation, I joined a private company as a Site Engineer to construct a 25-story office building. But unfortunately, just before the 5th floor, the project was terminated due to the economic crisis of the country!! So, I thought to share some of my favorite images of the site taken at that time.

Well, you know that the construction industry is physically demanding and challenging. Basically, it's highly dependent on human labor and has a very tight schedule. So, we have to work long hours, on weekends, and even on holidays. Sometimes, it's a stressful situation.

But meanwhile, amidst all this, there are many silver lines. There is some scenery that is extraordinary. The sight of towering cranes and heavy machinery, erections of scaffolding, and other precise works, the work of skilled laborers. And meanwhile, when we see the progress of the work, the scene of the rising of the building from mud to up, it's totally satisfying. The workers and the officers can see how their hard work becomes a reality.

And this is a great place to develop interaction with people. There is every kind of them working as a team. Our challenging part is to take the best out of them.

The most important thing is to be happy with the simple and small things on the site. Per se, the scenery of the site beyond concrete and steel.
