Ella se encontraba frente a mí bajo la inmensidad del esplendor azulado llamado mar, cantaba una melodía mientras se zambullía y disfrutaba del arrecife, debía aprovechar ya que solo podríamos estar por poco tiempo en el agua, pues mientras más tiempo era aumentaba el costo del paseo y de verdad que deseábamos pasar la mejor luna de miel de la historia, sin darnos cuenta que se convertiría en una historia que no acabaría:

Nos casamos y a los 4 días partimos a México en Verano, estuvimos hospedados cerca de la playa, era fascinante abrir la ventana del cuarto y escuchar las olas en la costa chocar contra la arena, mi esposa estaba tan feliz que su sonrisa se marcaba en todo su rostro, y para mí la mayor alegría era encontrarla junto a mí; aunque después habría preferido nunca tomar aquel vuelo hacia Oaxaca (México), pero mi amada es bióloga marina y siempre había querido cumplir su sueño de nadar entre delfines y ballenas.

We got married and after 4 days we left for Mexico in Summer, we were staying near the beach, it was fascinating to open the window of the room and listen to the waves on the coast hitting the sand, my wife was so happy that her smile was marked in everything her face, and for me the greatest joy was finding her next to me; although afterwards I would have preferred never to take that flight to Oaxaca (Mexico), but my beloved is a marine biologist and had always wanted to fulfill her dream of swimming with dolphins and whales.

Al llegar al lugar, pasamos una gran noche y salimos a eso de las 8:00am para la clase de buceo, primero debíamos ser bien instruidos par así nadar a mar abierto, era un travesía inolvidable junto a mi esposa. Recuerdo que antes de iniciar la clase le regalé una estrella de mar que conseguí a la orilla mientras íbamos de camino a la zona de práctica. Ella me comentó: "Muchas gracias por acompañarme en mi sueño". Creo que esa es una de las cosas más valiosas que puedes esperar de tu pareja, por esos detalles no debería arrepentirme de lo acontecido.

When we arrived at the place, we had a great night and we left at around 8:00 am for the diving class, first we had to be well instructed to swim in the open sea, it was an unforgettable journey with my wife. I remember that before class I gave him a starfish that I got from the shore while we were on the way to the practice area. She told me: "Thank you very much for accompanying me in my dream." I think that is one of the most valuable things you can expect from your partner, for those details I should not regret what happened.

Luego de días prácticando buceo, ya estábamos listo para la exploración a mar abierto, y así poder conocer a los delfines y ballenas; lastimosamente solo logré recuperar una fotografía de todo nuestro paseo ¡y ya sabrán porque solo una!.

After days of diving, we were ready to explore an open sea, and thus be able to meet dolphins and whales; unfortunately I only managed to recover a photograph of our entire walk and you will know why only one!

Entramos al agua con nuestra respectiva protección, de verdad que son muy cómodos estos trajes de buceo, esperaba que fuesen una molestia para nadar; pero en realidad es un gran invento. Íbamos tomados de la mano, yo solo disfrutaba al verla cumplir uno de sus sueños, llegamos a un arrecife lleno de vida y color, los moluscos era de tonos rojos resaltantes y los peces amarillentos, a lo lejos vimos una gran sirueta de una ballena, nos acercamos y era un hermoso espécimen de orca, su color negro la hacía deslumbrar en el agua, continuamos nadando y vimos unos delfines pasar, que gran impulso el que toman estos seres para asomarse a la superficie, estar tan cerca de ellos fue una experiencia que le agradezco a mi esposa.

We went into the water with our respective protection, these diving suits are really very comfortable, I expected them to be a nuisance to swim; but it's actually a great invention. We were holding hands, I just enjoyed seeing her fulfill one of her dreams, we arrived at a reef full of life and color, the mollusks were of prominent red tones and the yellowish fish, in the distance we saw a large sirouette of a whale, We got closer and it was a beautiful specimen of orca, its black color made it dazzle in the water, we continued swimming and saw some dolphins passing by, what a great impulse these beings take to peek to the surface, being so close to them was an experience that I thank my wife.

Ya al estar como 15min en medio del mar, le comenté a mi esposa que era tiempo de regresar, debíamos retornar usando como guía un conducto del traje que nos llevaría de retornó a la lancha, mientras regresábamos notamos un tiburón blanco que comenzó a merodear, estaba muy nervioso y con un poco de miedo, mi esposa no se preocupo mucho al punto de que quería tocarlo, yo le dije que no lo hiciera por ser muy peligroso, pero su curiosidad la hizo acercarse con cautela, eficientemente alcanzó a tocar la aleta del tiburón, pero en eso llegó la orca y se lanzó contra el tiburón blanco en una batalla, mi esposa sorprendida solo se impulso hacia mí, en eso pude ver cómo el tiburón la mordió y huyó del ataque, tomé su cuerpo descendiendo al arrecife y pedí ayuda a través de la radio, se encontraba angustiada con un fuerte dolor, yo solo cerré mis ojos y la abrace, quedé en estado de shock. Al reaccionar nuevamente estaba en la lancha de camino al hospital, pues mi esposa perdió una pierna solo por intentar explorar.

Being about 15min in the middle of the sea, I told my wife that it was time to return, we should return using as a guide a conduit from the suit that would take us back to the boat, while we returned we noticed a white shark that began to prowling, I was very nervous and a little scared, my wife did not care much to the point that she wanted to touch him, I told her not to do it because it was very dangerous, but her curiosity made her approach cautiously, she efficiently reached to touch the fin of the shark, but then the orca arrived and threw itself against the white shark in a battle, my surprised wife only pushed towards me, in that I could see how the shark bit her and fled the attack, I took her body descending to the reef and asked for help through the radio, they found themselves distraught with a strong pain, I just closed my eyes and hugged her, I was in shock. When I reacted again I was in the boat on the way to the hospital, as my wife lost a leg just trying to explore.

En la actualidad hemos aprendido a vivir después de esta circunstancia difícil que vivimos, ella está contenta por haber cumplido su sueño y satisfecha con mi cuidado; me da dolor al verla así y quisiera que no hubiese pasado, pero ella siempre me dice: "es esperanzador estar viva junto a tí, cumplí lo que anhelaba a pesar de que le entregué una parte de mí a ese sueño".

At present we have learned to live after this difficult circumstance that we live, she is happy for having fulfilled her dream and satisfied with my care; It hurts me to see her like this and I wish it hadn't happened, but she always tells me: "it's hopeful to be alive with you, I fulfilled what I longed for even though I gave a part of myself to that dream."

Esta corta historia es algo triste, sin embargo embarca un hermoso mensaje de fidelidad; pues poder cumplir un sueño muchas veces traerá riesgos, pero es increíble la sensación de saber que lo intentaste y que has sido fiel.

This short story is somewhat sad, however it carries a beautiful message of fidelity; Well, being able to fulfill a dream many times will bring risks, but the feeling of knowing that you tried and that you have been faithful is incredible.
