RE: How Does Steemcurator01 Support Affect Authors' Behavior?
You are like steemcurator09 to me
Oh. That's something I never wanted to be. I just want to be a normal user who votes what he likes. Did you know that I read everything I vote? The attention of a real reader should be the honor for an ambitious blogger - not the votes. Well, you are welcome though... 😉
the Steemit team are normal people.
I have never doubted that!
Quite the opposite. I have often sought dialog, sometimes critically. Sometimes I was "lucky" and they reacted, sometimes my suggestions were highly praised and "fobbed off" with a vote, nothing happened.
You said to @atego that no one had made better suggestions. That is not correct. I have always made constructive suggestions, as has @the-gorilla, who now also just seems tired and disappointed to me - although he has not been a member of the Steem for as long as I have. This is what often happens to the dedicated people who don't just look at their own blog, their own wallet: Steem burnout.... Am also close to it (not for the first time...).
SC01 responded to requests for ending plagiarism and punished fraudsters.
I know the story from the beginning on...
Ever asked yourself why the sc01-0x do not downvote?
actively supports the fight against fraud by papi.mati and community moderators
Yes, they pay by high upvotes (which again fuels greed (invented scammers) and envy (towards @papi-mati). But they do not intervene.
Don't you understand? Our VP is a flyspeck without the sc - the scammers are laughing their heads off.
A million SP at @ac-cheetah? Yeah, if the biggest trail followers hadn't delegated it all to @upvu themselves, for sure....
Bid bots remain a cancer of the community
Any kind of automatic money multiplication.... All the esprit was lost with the invention of the first vote-bots. Yes, don't worry, that was a long time ago.
The worst are the delegation bots. Disgusting! Pure self-fucking and additional enrichment of the bot operator. On the Hive (no, I'm not there, there are other things to chalk up, there is a whole society playing God), the community (okay, there are several whales) got a handle on the problem by simply downvoting every user to zero. The game makes no one here because too many use the shit themselves. And no one bothers them. No, it is partially still honey around the beard greased.
because I am still a newcomer
Please don't mind: You are.
A very good, dedicated, questioning user - no question about it, you have my full appreciation.
But you also belong to the "new generation", which did not get the whole dispute before and around the split of the Hive. "Follow the Money" was a disgusting topic back then. Here it seems to be slowly taking root. This blinds the new generation, the "old generation" moves away or adopts strange trickery.
It's no longer a feel good place - and I'm telling you that even though I get the sc votes. I don't post that often, though: I'm uncomfortable with being gifted too often.... Some people, however, no longer know any shame at all.
I am tired... 😊
It was supposed to be a compliment :)
I had a long correspondence with @the-gorilla when he was as pessimistic as you are now. Then I rushed to write a collective appeal to Steemit.Inc, and @the-gorilla advised me to cool down :) And look what happened next, @the-gorilla began to write a new interface and fight fraud again. Your fatigue will surely be replaced by a burst of activity and hope.
I believe that the root of the trouble of this platform is in bid bots. Without them, it would not be easy for fraudsters and there would not be so many of them. We need to fight bid bots, even if we see STEEM for 1 cent.
Unfortunately, people who support this platform, such as you, @the-gorilla and others, are scattered across different communities and do not coordinate their actions. I believe that it is necessary to create a certain initiative core, develop a common vision of the future and the necessary changes, and then come up with specific proposals to Steemit.Inc.
Perhaps not everyone will agree that immediate elimination of bid bots is required. It may be best to create such conditions that they die slowly. But I don't know how. But if we put together a big brain center, together we could come up with a plan of action or something.
My intention with this reply is not to demoralise or disappoint anybody but the idea of fighting bidbots without Steemit making a decision to ban them (which they will not do) is futile. Following @chriddi tagging me, I decided to look at the top 1,000 accounts by "Own SP" - i.e. before they delegate (the lowest power of these users has 10,456 SP). I then removed the steemcurator and booming accounts to see what percentage is delegated.
72%. Equating to just over 89 million Steem Power (I'll need you to remind me how much total steem is currently in circulation).
If I excluded users who have received more than 100,000 power in delegations themselves (which are primarily the upvoting services themselves), this figure increases to 75%.
So the top 1,000 users delegate almost all of their power.
Of those remaining that don't, we have the likes of ctime which is an auto-voting bot, ranchorelaxo who uses his 1,000,000+ power to farm and quite a lot of accounts who have been totally inactive for over a year and have presumably lost their keys (e.g. @ben).
So there's little chance of downvoting bidbot users away in the way that Hive does or perhaps Steemit used to for the sad reason that almost all of the most powerful users have delegated to them.
It makes ac-cheetah's 1,000,000 seem insignificant if a downvoting "war" is what's required.
Sorry, forgot to add:
virtual_supply : 430745373.400 STEEM
current_supply : 399700315.359 STEEM
That's interesting - So current supply is approximately 400 million. Top 1,000 users equate to roughly 100 million with 75% delegated to voting services.
I think your latest stat was the roughly 25% of all steem is with voting bots (roughly 100 million steem) which means that of the remaining 300 million steem in circulation, only 25 million is delegated.
This tells me that people work their way up to roughly 10,000 steem and then delegate most of it to voting bots. But not until this 10,000 figure is reached.
🤔
This is easy to explain. If you delegate upvu less than 10,000 SP, then you get a few cents for your post. For example, this user: https://steemworld.org/@ai1love
He has delegated 5,000 SP and receives 66 cents from upvu. In this case, it is more profitable to just be a blogger and communicate with the community.
If you have more than 10,000 SP, then you are already getting more than one dollar from upvu. For many, this is an income with which it is better to do nothing and get small but stable money.
Sadly, this is also the plan for many “bloggers” - they have a target power which when reached, they delegate it all away and go on “easy street”. A few people I quite liked talking too did this and it was always their plan.
This is another challenge when helping people reach dolphin status and bigger, there’s always a risk that they’re “playing the system”
Your analysis is, of course, frustrating. But this is the situation as of now. Everything can change.
I joined the platform a little over six months ago. My account is now over 7,000 SP. I'm not alone, I think there are many like me. In 1-2 years, the total capacity of our accounts will be a significant amount. If most of these users are involved in the fight against plagiarism, there is hope.
But I agree that we will never be able to fight the big fish, because during this time it will become even bigger. We need to change the basic rules.
It's a big "If". I feel that it's only a handful of users that really care at the moment and I can't see there being an "event" or something that will make people stand up and fight.
Using the word fight makes me want to ask how things are there war-wise? Has anything changed in the last week as the rhetoric from our journalists has changed significantly with the expectation being that the invasion will begin imminently.
According to our authorities, all preparations for Russian troops for the attack have been completed. Now everything will depend on whether there will be an order to attack. That is, the war can begin even today.
The first thing that will be lost is the connection, including the Internet. So I warned the whole SC06 team to keep an eye on the account on Saturdays, as I could suddenly become inactive at any time.
If you are interested in my opinion on whether there will be an attack, I believe that from the very beginning Putin was counting on blackmail and panic. But now he has put himself in a situation where he must attack.
Today the Chancellor of Germany went to him. Yesterday he was in Kyiv. Although it was not said directly, I understand that he told our president that Germany would not support Ukraine's accession to NATO. Now he has gone to Putin with this message.
If you are interested in why we want to join NATO so much, I will tell you that this is the only chance to save the country. Without NATO, Russia will absorb Ukraine, it will just be gradual.
In general, we have not been able to maintain our independence for more than 300 years. That is why no one knew that Ukrainians are a separate nation, with their own language, culture and mentality different from their neighbors.
On Sunday, 30 charters with our oligarchs left Ukraine, most of them with a strong pro-Russian orientation. This suggests that they have more information about Russia's plans. Many countries are closing consulates and relocating embassies, recalling instructors and observers.
So far, I have no positive news for you.
This all sounds very depressing - the news here has improved since you wrote this with suggestions that Russia is even withdrawing some forces. I hope that this is true and you can live in some sort of peace without the threat of war.
I knew 🙂
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. If Russia's excuse for invading Ukraine is through fear of it joining NATO, it demonstrates the threat and exact reason why Ukraine needs to join NATO... interestingly, bringing Russia even closer to bordering NATO allies.
Now we are closely watching the "withdrawal" of troops. They have worked out the logistics of the rapid transfer of troops to our borders, the best places to place artillery have been identified, the time it takes to prepare for the invasion they already know, as well as what still needs to be improved.
I think they will continue to keep us in suspense. But everything can turn into a war, Putin is already at the age when people commit catastrophes. And if you analyze the people around him, the war is possible with a high probability.
Yesterday again a white cyber attack. Several banks and the website of the Ministry of Defense did not work. Interesting times have come :(
Hopefully your government has been able to do the same - seeing where Russia deploys its troops and continuing to strengthen defences accordingly.
If it doesn't come to war, the West needs to see this as a reminder of how dangerous Russia is. And remove any dependency on needing their resources - Gas in particular.
I know, I took it that way too - thanks!
Sometimes I'm just a little "desperate" when I have the feeling, not I as a dedicated user, but my Stake is seen... 🤷♀️
No, you do not have to refer to you now... 😉
We have already seen it at 6 cent. At that time we had one thing above all: fun!
The rest, which I wanted to write, I save now - that has the-gorilla already taken over...
Have a nice Sunday!
And make sure that everything you do for the Steem brings joy to you!
Best regards from Germany,
Chriddi
Thank you, Sunday was wonderful. Who knows, maybe this is the last peaceful Sunday in my country.
Thanks for the great discussion, I learned a lot.
I do not hope!
Thanks! We also hope for a peaceful solution.
Me too 😴
