Rome - The Enigmatic Metropolis of Timeless Charm - Italy | WOX Travel Contest | Week 15steemCreated with Sketch.

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year

Greetings the fellow people of Steemit i hope all of you had a fantastic day.

So the time has come to finally write a post about Rome, i spoke about Rome for some time, but still haven't shared my experience with it, because over the last couple of weeks i was busy and writing a post especially about Rome takes lots of time, because i have so much to tell and so much materials that i didn't know if i should've split the story on two parts.

Anyway some backstory, as for those of you who know me i have friends who live in Italy who are mostly students and sometimes i visit them in this beautifull country, so the time has come to share with you my experience which is going to be sort of controversial and you'll see why reading this post. For the record i'm sharing my experience as a tourist and as a student in some parts, because i'm young and i have spent enough time there to think that i live there as a student, because of my friends also i'm gonna try the story to be as interesting as possible hehe. Let's begin.

As the sun slowly descended upon the cobblestone streets of Rome, casting a warm golden hue on the ancient facades, I found myself immersed in a world that seemed plucked straight from the pages of a faded manuscript. Rome, the city that had enchanted the hearts of countless dreamers, had become my temporary muse, whispering tales of its storied past into my eager ear.

Wandering through the narrow alleys, I felt the palpable energy of this timeless metropolis. The air was alive with the melodies of bustling trattorias and the aroma of freshly brewed espresso. Each corner turned brought a new revelation—a hidden piazza adorned with vibrant fountains, or a charming gelateria beckoning with promises of sweet indulgence.

But it was not just the grandeur of the monuments that left me breathless; it was the human element that breathed life into this eternal city. I found myself drawn to the lively conversations of locals seated at outdoor cafes, their animated gestures punctuating their passionate debates. The sheer joy they found in their daily rituals, from savoring simple dishes to engaging in spirited banter, was infectious.

One particular evening, as twilight painted the sky with hues of amethyst and gold, I made my way to the Trevi Fountain. Standing before the cascading waters, I couldn't help but marvel at the collective wishes of countless dreamers encapsulated within its depths. With a pocketful of coins, I joined the tradition, closing my eyes and making a wish, allowing the cool droplets to caress my face.

In the heart of the city, I found solace in the embrace of art and history. The Vatican's hallowed halls spoke volumes of the devotion that had shaped Rome's spiritual identity.Rome was a tapestry woven with layers of the past and present, each thread connecting its vibrant tapestry of stories.

In the Roman Forum, I traced the footsteps of emperors and senators, imagining their voices echoing through the ruins. The Colosseum, once a grand arena of entertainment and spectacle, now stood as a silent witness to a bygone era. I mean come on i was in Rome i couldn't leave without seeing the Colosseum.

Amidst the grandeur, I discovered the unexpected intimacy of Rome's side streets. The scent of blooming jasmine permeated the air, mingling with the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked bread. I stumbled upon a small trattoria tucked away from the tourist trails, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. The clinking of glasses and the clatter of cutlery accompanied the chorus of joyous conversations, reminding me that Rome was not merely a city of monuments but a vibrant community brimming with life.

Okay let's stop for a second or two, i know some of the things i say sound too good to be true, but i make the story more interesting adding details trying to be a creative writer, but well the people of Rome are not that bad as i said in other posts, they are just regular people, it's just that the people of Milan are way friendlier and the energy seems more positive, and let's not forget that i'm with my friends and we spread postive vibes everywhere, just because we come from a Balkan country which means we are more open. Anyway i want to note that, because i have so many photos of Rome i basically started a story in photos with some creative writing, but it is true that Rome is not just merely a city of monuments but a vibrant community brimming with life. Anyway i'm thinking of ending the post here, because i have so much more material to post and so much to say, so we'll have to wait for the next week where i will share more landmarks, architecture, food, and nightlife. And one last thing to note before i end the post, i don't know if i mentioned it all of this didn't happen in one day hehe. I was also thinking of continuing the story in another contest for example the woxcityscape one, but as far as i noticed @o1eh likes to read my content so i would look forward into not disappoint him.

So this is for today my fellow Steemians i would love to see some feedback if you liked my photos and my kinda cringy, but creative story and writing. Expect more of Rome next week. Ciao!

Thanks for a very cool post. Yes, Rome is an extraordinary city. Once I was in Rome on a business trip. We didn't have much time and we walked through the city so fast that I'm not sure that I have any impressions :) I have a similar story with Milan.

You showed us a lot of great photos that convey a bit of the atmosphere of the city, especially the last one. You can really tell a lot about Rome, especially if you start from 500 BC :)

By the way, you write differently than most bloggers, more creatively, more cool. It seems that you have a writer hidden somewhere inside you.

I will be glad if you tell me something else next week.
