WOX Travel Post | Carlos Manuel Piar's House prison in CBO
Tortured ☹️
This is how M. P. was treated, as one of the national heros of the Venezuela's historical Independence had before to break the slavery relationship with that Spain of last century kingdom, after betraying the trusting of Simón Bolívar (The Latin America's Liberator). The legend says that Piar was forced to stay in this colonial house and finally got doomed to be murdered in front at the cathedral that was still in construction to that date (it took too many years but that's another story). The fact is there's no enough proof for that because it's supposed that religion aspect in that era was very respected and logic suggest about something impossible to do in that horrible way. There's just a dark stain over there with a detailed printed text explaining that was caused by a bullet that killed Gral. Manuel but I'm seriously doubting about the official "Truth".
The inner spaces of this ancient construction shows the Spanish influence for those periods, also reflected in common objects that were utilized to multiple purposes as we can appreciate in the respective photographies. Slaves or prisoners used to wear white shirts as the one that is now hanging at the picture. The artistical frame of brave warriors riding the horses is a typical scene of the relevant independence that made possible the born of first republic in the country.
By looking carefully at the architectural facade and many other small imperceptible things that characterized those years, I could imagine the tense to achieve the big goal to defeat the spanish crown and their influences in order to finally scream towards all the winds: there's liberty in America! It's a lot to develop and investigate the several evidences that are still alive in the interesting places like this one that is located in front of the iconical cathedral of CBO in Guayana region, at the south side of powerful Orinoco River.
