Il dipinto rappresenta una vallata con delle abitazioni. Non è ben chiaro dove siano state costruite queste abitazioni perché le colline e le nuvole si confondono. Al centro c’è un corpo celeste che racchiude in sé il paesaggio come nei classici souvenir, quelli in cui ci sono i villaggi racchiusi nelle sfere, nelle quali cade la neve se vengono capovolte.

The painting depicts a valley with dwellings. It is not clear where these dwellings were built because the hills and clouds are blurred. In the center is a celestial body that encloses the landscape as in the classic souvenirs, those in which there are villages enclosed in spheres, in which snow falls if they are turned upside down.

grazie Roby per il commento... in realtà non sono voluto andare a fondo, ma con questo bel commento voglio proprio arrivare oltre.. Mio padre ha come soggetto ricorrente "il gabbiano" che spesso simboleggia la vita e la libertà. E anche questa volta ha nascosto la sagoma del gabbiano... non ti sembra che quel paesino voli? eppure l'hai detto anche tu che sembra "etereo"... ecco .. nell'imagine sotto puoi vedere il gabbiano nascosto nel dipinto che porta con sè il paesaggio.
Ma è geniale, non me ne ero accorta!! Adesso rivedere il quadro ha tutto un altro senso. E' meraviglioso. Ti faccio domanda difficile.. ne hai uno che preferisci tra tutti i quadri di tuo padre? ;-)
