Gli elefanti orfani di Nairobi
Nel parco Nazionale di Nairobi, Kenya, esiste da tempo un centro di accoglienza per i cuccioli di elefanti che rimangono orfani a causa del bracconaggio, lo Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Il numero di elefanti della savana africana è crollato del 60% negli ultimi 50 anni, rientrando nell’elenco delle specie in pericolo nell’ultimo aggiornamento della “Lista rossa” dell’IUCN. Rif.
Per fortuna esistono moltissime strutture come questa a Nairobi che si prendono cura di questi orfani e che poi al momento giusto verranno reintrodotti in natura.

Nairobi's Orphaned Elephants
In Nairobi National Park, Kenya, there has long been a shelter for baby elephants orphaned by poaching, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
The number of elephants in the African savannah has plummeted by 60% in the last 50 years, making it into the list of endangered species in the latest update of the IUCN's "Red List". Ref
Luckily, there are plenty of facilities like this one in Nairobi that take care of these orphans and then when the time is right they will be reintroduced into the wild.

The largest land animal is experiencing dangerous time, as they are in the extension list. Long ago, these animals roamed the land just like fish do in the sea. They traveled along routes which their ancestors had traveled and had recorded in their memory. Currently, the human being has destroyed all that, they have marginalized them in increasingly smaller territories, they hunt them in order to keep their tusks or their meat; it also has to deal with the destruction of its environment. To take a broader view, in the 1980s the elephant population was 1.3 million, today there are at most 500 thousand left. It is good to know that there are people who take care of these animals and give shelter to those who are orphaned. Thank you for sharing these nice photos.
It's true, unfortunately over the years they have been decimated both by poaching and because there are fewer and fewer forests due to human action.

Purtroppo nel corso della storia abbiamo portato all'estinzione tantissime specie di animali..
Immagine eccellente. È positivo che ci siano basi per questi elefanti orfani. La caccia sportiva e il commercio illegale dovrebbero essere puniti con 30 anni di carcere. Milionari di tutto il mondo vanno in Africa a caccia di divertimento.
La penso come te, ci vorrebbero sanzioni più severe per chi pratica il commercio illegale.
