📣 ✨ UNFORGETTABLE TRIP ✨ 📣 WEEK / SETTIMANA #39✨
Hello Steemians.
OK. Now in my country Sri Lanka, we sort of have a dry season going on specially for the lower mid country and dry zones.
At present, Sri Lanka is going through a prolonged rain-free period. Several parts of the country are experiencing an unprecedent drought with the Udawalawe reservoir running almost dry for the first time in fifty years. It is reported that water levels of most tanks and reservoirs are below 50% of their capacity.

The area my working place is also experiencing this extreme weather. Hence the reservoir nearby my university, Samanala Tank (Samanala Weva) is getting almost empty. Since water levels are becoming lesser an lesser it has become an attraction for locals to visit the empty tank bed. So last week after work I have also visited there.
Really I was amazed. Though I have seen many dry seasons this is the worst of them. This reservoir is really important because it generates a good chunk of electricity demand of the country and it provides water to the above mentioned Udawalwe reservoir also. Therefore many agriculture based families are dependent on the tank.
So I tried to capture god amount of images to share with you.
The most amazing thing was to reach the junction where Walawe River and Belihuloya River falls to the reservoir. You may realize the importance of preserving water sources after seeing this
Thank you for stopping by.
