i view it as long-distance littering. If someone were to drive a truck somewhere and dump 10,000 lanterns on the ground people would definitely have a problem with that... sorry but that is basically what is happening because those things eventually have to come down!
totally agree with you. And you have no idea where the lantern lands, it could potentially set fire to something or get caught on power cables
