Ghee ( butter) | Water |
The first step is to cut the bread into tiny pieces and remove any brown edges. Next, process the bread into fine crumbs by grinding or mixing the pieces.
Now add powdered milk to the bread crumbs according to your preference and mix them well.
Next, add some ghee and gradually pour in the liquid milk to form a soft, sticky dough. Set aside for 15 minutes to rest while I make the sugar syrup.
Sugar Syrup: One cup of sugar and two cups of water should be combined in a pot. To enhance the taste, garnish with crushed cardamom pods and a touch of ghee. To enhance the aroma, you may also add golapjol (rose water). Boil the mixture for about 10 minutes until it forms a nonsticky thin syrup, then set it aside.
Make sure the dough has attained the right consistency after it has rested. Next, lay out little pieces of dough and shape them into golapjams or whatever form you choose.
Pour oil into a pan and set it over medium heat. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the formed golapjam until they are dark brown.
After the golapjam are cooked to perfection, submerge them gently in the sugar syrup that has been made. To fully absorb the syrup's sweetness and flavors, let them boil in it for around fifteen minutes.
To get the most out of the golapjam's taste and texture, keep it rest at least two hours and preferably overnight.
The following day, taste your Bread Golapjam and be amazed by your culinary masterpiece! Juicy and supple, the golapjam should be fragrant with rose water and cardamom.
