La casa de mi mamá es mi refugio tanto para compartir alegrías como momentos difíciles, mi pensamiento me lleva hacia allá. Al hogar de una hermosa señora que se levanta cada día con la frente en alto pese a cualquier adversidad que pueda estar bordeándola. Es imparable, y ha logrado hacer de su casa un espacio con una firma única y especial.

My mother's house is my refuge to share joys as well as difficult moments, my thoughts take me there. To the home of a beautiful lady who gets up every day with her head held high in spite of any adversity that may be bordering her. She is unstoppable, and has managed to make her home a space with a unique and special signature.

Hay dos aromas que me devuelven a la casa de mi mamá: el del café y el de salsas para pastas. Ésta última, las hace para nosotros, su familia y para la venta. Ella, junto a papá ambos jubilados, se ocupan de su casa desde muy temprano, ella predominantemente en la cocina y él en su “patio”. Han hecho de su hogar un espacio delicioso y acogedor, para sus hijos y nietos, quienes a la mínima oportunidad nos escapamos para allá.

There are two aromas that bring me back to my mother's house: coffee and pasta sauces. The latter, she makes for us, her family and for sale. She, along with dad, both retired, take care of their home early in the morning, she predominantly in the kitchen and he in their "patio". They have made their home a delicious and cozy space for their children and grandchildren, who escape there at the slightest opportunity.

El aroma del café de mi madre, y su sabor, me brinda un consuelo indescriptible, es mi mejor terapia. Mi tranquilidad, mi relax es tomarme un café con mi madre, es mi momento especial. Siempre encuentro un consejo oportuno, una invitación a la calma, y la tranquilidad de ver cómo se encuentra mi mamá para también poderla apoyar, tanto en sus situaciones personales como en las actividades y diligencias requeridas en la casa materna.

The aroma of my mother's coffee, and its taste, gives me an indescribable comfort, it is my best therapy. My tranquility, my relaxation is to have a coffee with my mother, it is my special moment. I always find a timely advice, an invitation to calm, and the tranquility to see how my mother is doing so I can also support her, both in her personal situations and in the activities and errands required in the mother's house.

El aroma de salsa para pastas es algo exquisito, siempre se respira un ambiente de prosperidad, de abundancia, y es que ella hace magia en su cocina y crea platillos deliciosos. Es hermoso cuando tienes un lugar a donde llegar, que siempre sabes que te van a recibir con los brazos abiertos, de manera incondicional. Y que cuando estás lejos, un recuerdo, un aroma te permite estar presente con los tuyos. Espero poder brindarles a mis hijos, cuando sean adultos y formen sus hogares, espacios, momentos y recuerdos como los que me regala mi mamá.

The aroma of pasta sauce is something exquisite, there is always an atmosphere of prosperity, of abundance, and she makes magic in her kitchen and creates delicious dishes. It is beautiful when you have a place to come to, and you always know that you will be welcomed with open arms, unconditionally. And when you are far away, a memory, an aroma allows you to be present with your loved ones. I hope to be able to give my children, when they are adults and form their homes, spaces, moments and memories like the ones my mom gives me.
