Introduction of Patal farmer :

My uncle's name is Md. Zahid Hasan. He is a farmer. He worked hard. The amount of his cultivable land is 2 acres. He has succeeded in planting vegetables and orchards on his land. Day and night he is working equally in the garden. In the last few months he has benefited by cultivating paddy. But now the season of Patal cultivation is over.

Patal plant :

Patal is a kind of vegetable. The scientific name of this plant is Trichosanthes dioica. It grows well in Eastern India, especially in Orissa, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Bangladesh. It is rich in sugars, vitamins A and C. It also contains small amounts of magnesium, copper, potassium, sulfur and chlorine.

Climate in paddy cultivation :

Warm and humid climate is required for the physical growth and yield of Patal tree. Patals require higher temperatures and more sunlight.

Soil for paddy cultivation :

High and medium elevation lands with drainage facilities and sandy loam to loamy loam are suitable for paddy cultivation. Patal is quite drought tolerant. However, if the water shortage is prolonged, the yield decreases.

Seed quantity : 8-10 grams per hundred depending on the variety.

Fertilizer management :

All the remaining fertilizers except urea should be applied half at the time of land preparation and half at the time of feeding. Urea fertilizer should be applied in three equal installments 20 days after seedling emergence. It is inconvenient to give urea if the scaffolding is not given in the land of Patal. In that case half of the urea should be mixed in the bed and the other half in the soil around the base of the plant 30 days after the emergence of the seedlings. The yield of Patal increases at first and then gradually decreases. Yield: In fact, by clearing the soil around the mother, lightly chopping the soil and applying additional 20-30 grams of urea, 30-35 grams of TSP and 20-25 grams of MOP fertilizer to the female, new flowers appear on the tree and the yield increases a lot.

Weeds :

To control weeds, weed the land well with a ladder, use clean seeds and use clean agricultural machinery. Weeds should be picked within 25-30 days of sowing.

Rogbalaih :

Mencozeb national fungicide such as Ridomyl Gold 20 gm in 10 liters of water can be sprayed 2-3 times every 10-12 days to control Downy Mildew and Gummy Stem Blight. You have to be careful.
