Daily Menu Delicacies 28.06.23 : Homemade Crispy Fried Fresh Calamari! Check out 14 photos of the recipe I did some days back!

in Steemit Iron Cheflast year

I'll start the post with this photo of the fresh calamaris I got from my sister couple of days back...

The color of the calamari + the bright eyes tell you how fresh these calamaris were!!!

Around 15 Usd a kilo!

Despite the high price, I did not hesitate to buy 3kilos(5 pcs) when my sister told me about the availability of fresh calamaris...

They were neither too big or too small...they were actually perfect in size! And I used 3pcs to make the recipe of crispy fried calamari for our dinner!

The hardest part in the recipe is the cleaning of the calamaris!!!

If you don't know the process, better seek advice first!

When cleaning the calamaris, you will see a lot of black ink and everything will turn black...

Under running water, I separated the "head" part from the body and washed away all black ink!

I discarded the inside of the calamari tubes as well as the eyes! We don't eat them here in my country!!!

Peel the thin skin...

Next step is to take off maximum skin you can on both the tubes as well as the head part!

It is easier to take off skin from the tubes than from the head part!

Internal Shell inside the tube...

When cleaning the calamaris, you get that lovely looking shell...I kept them and will see what I can do with them, any idea!???

Cut in small pieces as you can see below...

With a sharp knife, I incised the calamaris and cut in small pieces. I also cut the tentacles (head part), as you can see below.

The skin being very thin, it was difficult taking them off from the head part...infact they don't cause any problem when cooking, as the skin was very thin and tender!

Season and coat in corn flour...

For the seasoning, I used salt, pepper, thyme, garlic paste, lemon juice, mustard paste and some mild spices!

Coat all the pieces of calamaris in corn flour...

Just before frying, you just have to coat eat piece of calamaris into corn flour and deep fry as soon as possible!

Deep fry in hot oil until crispy!!!

I also fried some French Fries while preparing the calamaris, frying the calamaris was the last step...

I enjoyed the crispy calamaris with some French baguette too! Perfect dinner!!!

You can fry many seafoods in this way...

Always keep it simple with seafood...as most of seafoods are fragile food and needs little handling/cooking!

The calamari was simply amazing and nothing to do with the frozen ones we get from supermarkets!!! Fresh seafoods are always the best as you get that ocean taste with a sweet note!

Wow!

Thanks so much for reading and hopefully enjoying the post being my contribution to today's Daily Menu Delicacies!

Have a wonderful day/evening ahea!
Until another post!
Wish you well!
