Steemit Traditional Christmas Desserts / Watalappan
Origin of this food is from Malay people of my country as I heard and the 1st time I taste it was at a wedding.
As tomorrow is Christmas I thought to make the everyone's favorite dessert. In my opinion, our Christmas dinner table is incomplete without Watalappan.
Jaggery, coconut milk , water, eggs, cashew nuts, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg were the only ingredients you need.
At first I melted jaggery with water after crushing it.
Then all I had to do were adding egg yolk and spices into it and let it steam for 45 minutes.
After putting it in the refrigerator you can see the final look as follow.
To get the best taste of Watalappan I think it is mandatory to add Vanila ice cream.
Can't wait to see how everyone enjoy this pudding at tomorrow night.
Thank you @yolimarag for this lovely contest.

Thank you so much❤️🥰 !
Greetings friend, I did not know this dessert, it looks like a quesillo at first glance, but it is made with coconut milk, here it would be coconut quesillo, very nice presentation, thanks for participating in the contest. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much❤️🥰 ! In Sri Lanka we call quesillo as Caramel pudding. Yes both look alike and the taste and smell is also kind of same. The main difference is jaggery is needed for making watalappan.
