STEEMIT IRON CHEF ACT 1 ROUND 13 | Kakiage by @jobreyes24
Greetings to all Iron Chefs,
Congratulations to all of us 'coz we reached until this far and growing.
Time flies fast and here's my entry for Round 13. I will introduce to you another Japanese Recipe from the product of the week onion. I will make Kakiage, Japanese dish made with different vegetables mix with batter and fried.
Ingredients:
1 big Onion
1 Carrot
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/2 cup of cold water
Cooking Oil
Procedures:
- Peal the onion and carrots and cut into julienne.
- Combine onion and carrots in a bowl and sprinkle with 2 tablespoon of flour.
- Mix the remaining flour, egg, and cold water to make a batter in a bowl.
- Add the batter to vegetables and mix evenly.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the battered vegetables about a cup size.
- Put the fire in a low heat to consistently cook the vegetables and flip to other side.
- Put the Kakiage in a kitchen paper to remove the excess oil.
I made 7 Kakiage out of the ingredients.
Onions and carrots are commonly used in Kakiage and it is a perfect combination.
I loved the aroma and the sweetness of Kakiage and dip with tempura sauce.
Let's enjoy eating! Itadakimasu.
