Today I would like to share my favourite recipe with you all.
Which I often make during fasting.
I would like to thank my dear friend @nancy0 to organized this lovely contest "Recipe of the Day, Week No. 35:" in steemit iron chef community.
Navratri has started in our country from today, 3rd October. In Navratri, Maa Durga is worshipped and fasts are observed for 7 days. Food is not eaten during these 7 days of fasting.
Today being the first fast of Navratri, everyone in the house has kept a fast.
The children have also kept a fast. But children get hungry anyway, so I have made cutlets and green chutney for children to be eaten during fasts.
The recipe of which I want to share with all of you.
To make this recipe, I have used some ingredients kept at home.
Ingredients
Boiled potatoes
Salt, cumin seeds, red chilli powder,
Oil for frying,
Green coriander,
Raw mango,
And green chillies.
Method of making chutney
To make chutney, I put a bowl of green coriander, half a bowl of raw mango chopped, four-five green chillies, 1/4 teaspoons of cumin seeds, and half a teaspoon of salt in a mixer jar and grinded it. In this way, I prepared spicy green chutney.
I think you all must be thinking, how did I get raw mango in this season. Whereas now raw mango is not even available in the market.😀
So I want to tell you all that when it is raw mango season, I wash, peel, cut raw mango and store it in an airtight box in the freezer.
Then whenever I have to make chutney, I take out a little mango from it and grind it by adding it in the chutney. This makes the chutney very tasty and the color of the chutney is also very beautiful.
Method of making cutlet:
First of all, I peeled the boiled potato and grated it. After grating it, I mixed salt, red chili powder according to taste , and 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds.
After mixing everything, now I greased my hands and took small parts of the potato mixer and gave it a cutlet shape.
Now I kept refined oil to heat in a pan on the gas. When the oil got heated, I put the cutlets in it and deep fried them till they became crispy and red.
This way I prepared tasty cutlets.
Now I served these cutlets by adding curd and chutney.
My son likes these cutlets with makhana very much. So I served him by adding curd, chutney and makhana. He enjoyed eating all this.
This is actually a very tasty food to be eaten during fasting.
