My taste for: Corn flakes

in Steemit Iron Cheflast year (edited)

I am not a foodie but I love the taste of good food to snacks and the contest organize by @dasudi about cornflakes just got the better part of my attention because I love everything about cornflakes ranging from the corn which it comes from to the sugar and malt flavor used in producing it. The logic is, if I get to love corn then conflakes is my favorite.

1. How often do you eat cornflakes and at what time of day do you prefer them, whether for breakfast, a snack, or dinner?

Well, conflakes been my favorite snacks I eat it about three to four times a week, and in as much as I mostly prefer them in the morning for breakfast, I do take them as my afternoon snack. I mean, of course it is my favorite. On particularly busy days when I don't have time to prepare a full meal, they serve as a quick, energizing option that keeps me going. Occasionally, I also take them as a light evening snack, especially when I need something simple and not too heavy before bed.

2. Do you like your cornflakes crunchy or smooth? Please describe how you eat them: plain, with milk, fruit, or something else.

I love corn for corn but conflakes is definitely enjoy while crunchy. I usually pour just enough cold milk to soak them slightly but not too much that they become soggy and lost the crunchy sound. Also trust me, you might want to say this to be a bad eating habit but I like to eat my conflakes quickly so I can enjoy that crisp texture. Most time, I like to add slices of banana or a handful of raisins for a natural sweetness and an extra nutritional boost. When I feel like switching things up a bit and go gaga, I drizzle a little honey over the top for added flavor and mehn... I will be in cloud 9 crunching evey bit of it.

3. What is your favorite brand of corn flakes that you usually buy?

I know of no other than my go-to brand which is Kellogg’s until I taste of another who can beat the out of competition, Kellogg's remains my brand and my reasons are simple: It’s widely available, consistent in quality and has that distinct, balanced taste I’ve come to enjoy over the years. The flakes are neither too thick nor too thin and trust me, they hold their crunch well even after being in milk for a while. I’ve also tried other brands which I don't think I am reviewing for and to called them out is not really necessary for me but I always find myself returning to Kellogg’s after having a taste of those other brand's.

4. Have you ever tried a corn flakes that you disliked?

Yes, and I buy it out of the hype my cousin was hyping them for and my curiosity pushed me to it and I honestly didn’t enjoy it. The texture was too rough and the flakes had an unusual aftertaste which I dislike, tatesd almost like burnt corn and another thing was that they also absorbed milk too quickly and turned mushy before I could finish the bowl. That experience made me more careful when choosing new brands.

5. If you were given the opportunity to create your own corn flakes, how would you describe it: flavor, texture, and other important aspects?

Oh no, If I had the chance to create my own corn flakes, I would go for a mildly sweet, honey-glazed variety with a light crunch that stays consistent in milk and that for real will be the biggest game changer Kellogg's will have to compete for. The texture would be thin but firm enough not to get soggy quickly. I’d also include a touch of cinnamon or vanilla to give it a warm, inviting flavor. I'm salivating for this already lolz. Nutritionally, I’d fortify it with iron, fiber and vitamins A and D, making it both tasty and nourishing and to blend it all I might also explore packaging small dried fruit bits or seeds as optional add-ins to make each bowl customizable.

Thank you
