LearnWithSteem: Recipe of Oha Soup

Welcome to my recipe blog where I share all kinds of unique and amazing recipes. Today, I have come with another amazing recipe. This recipe is common in the Eastern region part of Nigeria ( the Igbo's cuisine). The main ingredient for this recipe is 'Oha Leaf' which is why this delicious delicacy is called 'Oha Soup'

Now, let's proceed to the ingredients used and step-by-step preparation process of making Oha Soup;

Raw ingredients
- Oha leaf
- Achi (thickener)
- Fresh fish
- Onions
- Fresh pepper
- Maggi
- Palm oil (red oil)
- Stock fish
- Periwinkle
- Crayfish
- Salt
- Cow skin
Preparation Procedures |

Step 1: Wash the fish with hot water, season with; maggi, salt, fresh pepper and onions, add a little water and steam for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add stockfish and cow skin to it and continue steaming

Step 3: Add red oil and other ingredients ( maggi, salt and fresh pepper) and allow it to cook for 2 minutes before adding a cup of water.

Step 4: Add achi ( the soup thickener) and boil for 5 minutes ( it is healthy to cook achi properly).

Step 5: Add periwinkle and crayfish then allow it to cook for just a minute.

Step 6: the last step is adding of Oha leaf. I used my bare hands to cut the leaves into pieces without the use of knife.

After allowing the leaf cook for 1 minute, I turned off the gas and my delicious Oha Soup was ready in no time.

This soup can be served with different kinds of swallow; garri, fufu, pounded yam or semovita. Here, I served mine with fufu.

This soup is very healthy and you can prepare it with less than #5,600 (21 steem) depending on your budget. Let's see how much I used in preparing mine;
