Soaking theChana dal for 1.1/2 hours will make the vada crunchy. After soaking, strain the water, put them in a mixer jar and grind them. Next add salt to the soaked Chana dal and mix them well. Grind them to make roufg dough not soft like few Chana dal should remain half or full. Now put the ground flour in a wide pan. Add chopped onions, green chillies, mint, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste, cummi seeds and mash it. Make sure the salt is correct. Now pour oil in the pan and dry it well.It sounds like you're making Chana dal vada! Letting it soak for 1.5 hours should give it the perfect crunchiness. Grinding the dal to a rough texture will add to the texture. Adding all those flavorful ingredients like onions, green chilies, mint, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, and cumin seeds will definitely enhance the taste.
