Indeed we all have one or two favorite places to visit and I am not an exception of that because I have this favorite place that I will love to visit even though I have visited the place once but if I still have to chance I will love to visit the place again and again.

The favorite place I will love to visit is called Ubudu mountain resort. It is one of the best and beauty recreational/tourist centers here in my country Nigeria and it is located in the highland deep tropical forests of the cross-river state in the Obudu plateau. It was developed in the year 1951 by a Scottish named McCauley who was the first to go around the mountain ranges.

The mountain has an attractive landscape, calming ambiance, beautiful mountain area, warm and cold temperatures, and countryside view, with beautiful and calm suits for all its visitors. The resort is always open throughout the year but most preferably one can visit the tourist side between the period of October and February because this period will be more interesting and favorable at the mountain.

Ooh yes, I visited the place back then when I was still in high school, we went there for a school excursion and we were privileged to tour around the mountains but we were not able to visit some places because the mountain is too big and it had so many attractive and natural things.

Seriously I will love to visit the mountains again because I'm very sure there are new things which they must have implemented at the resorts.

Numerous features make me like the Ubud mountain resort among which are:

• Get on the cable car, this is one of the best moments for me the first time I visited the resort we were asked to choose if we will drive to the top or we will enter the cable car, and we all agreed to go with the cable. Immediately we enter the cable car to get to the top of the mountain it was so beautiful and we were able to see the bottom of the mountain so clearly, everywhere was so beautiful and I enjoyed the ride.
• Outdoor games: At the mountain, there are numerous outdoor games in which you can enjoy and have fun, like horse riding, swimming, hiking, going to the zoo, and many others.
• Sightseeing: If you are a lover of nature like me, then Obudu mountain will be the best place for you to visit because it is blessed with natural things like the virgin forests also you have this time to watch the birds with binoculars.
• Bars and restaurants: the resort also has a beautiful bar and a restaurant where you will have to chance to eat any time of meal, both local and continental dishes.
• Above all the place is calm and beautiful also, one can visit the gala waterfall and beeches natural reserve

There is numerous local cuisine at the Obudu mountain resort such as the a-la-carte and local Nigerian wine called (pami) e.t c.

While I can say how much it cost my principal back then but all I can say is that we were asked to pay the sum of 30 thousand nairas for the excursion, and everything we needed was provided to us by the school management. From the swimming fee, cable car, horse riding, food, drinks, and many others.

My experience at the mountains was very interesting because I had a lot of fun, and I was able to learn about the history of the mountain and also the people who make sure that the resort is well kept. I was able to visit the Virgin forest, it was my first time knowing such a name exist but after many explanations from the teacher, I know why the forest was called virgin forests.

On your next trip to the resort, you can get a direct flight from Lagos or Abuja which will take you directly to Calabar. Once you reached the state then you can take the bus down to Obudu and from Obudu to the ranch, you can take a taxi which will take you to the resort. From calaber to the resort is up to 5 to 6 hours.
