What is meditation? How is it useful for our health?

Meditation is a different person or a new person to train awareness and help to gain a healthy sense of perspective. Meditation teaches us not to shut off our thoughts and feelings or to observe them without judgment. Meditation is a technique to change your external thoughts that you will find very beneficial for your mental health.

In a world of daily pressures, worries, and expectations, the human mind can often come under a lot of pressure which directly affects our mood, making us less positive and self-assured. Anyone and guarantees can enjoy meditation that will feel healthy daily. Here are five straightforward reasons why meditation is good for your health:

  • Strengthens your Glow : Practicing meditation increases your positive energy, effectively making you more enjoyable. People naturally gravitate towards positivity, so your strong aura will help you enjoy the company of others when they use you the most.

  • Lowers Blood Pressure : Meditation can lower blood pressure, both short-term and later in life. Blood pressure is reduced by reducing psychological stress and increasing coping ability, helping you lead a healthy life.

  • Find a quiet spot to sit :
    Find a distraction-free location where you can sit peacefully. Find a place to sit, whether a chair or the floor and get into a comfortable position.

  • Set a Timer :
    If this is your first meditation, set the session length without judgment. After determining the duration, set a timer so you can focus instead of worrying about tracking your time. Some apps and websites include meditation trackers that let you input your time to track your progress.

  • Be a watcher :
    As you begin, close your eyes. Keep your breath steady and intentional. Feel and observe without judgment what is happening inside your body.

  • Scan your body :
    Turn your focus inward. Starting at one end of your body, slowly move your attention across your body and notice what is speaking to you. Do not attempt to change any thoughts or feelings. The goal is simple awareness.

  • Focus on your breathing :
    Follow the lead of your breath as you become aware of what's going on in your inner world. Try to count each breath and exhalation. If you don't count your breaths, try counting to 10 repeatedly. Placing one hand on your belly and one on your chest can help you tune in and follow your breath. Keep doing this until your timer stops.

  • Let your mind roam :
    Before opening your eyes, allow your mind to wander for 20-30 seconds before ending your session.

How do you practise every day?

Meditation is good before eating. It's okay if you don't have a quiet place to meditate. Sound is not an obstacle to meditation. Sit still, close your eyes, and do nothing for a minute. Thoughts will come, and it's okay. Thoughts are every day during meditations. After a minute, in the same natural way that the thought comes, and without moving your tongue or lips, begin to chant your mantra silently inside. Repeat your mantra slowly until you finish your meditation. When the thought comes, slowly return to chanting your mantra.

At the end of your meditation, you should lie down and rest for 4-5 minutes. Sometimes your mantra can be as vague as you want. Someday all your thoughts and mantras will vanish. You can be aware of this, and that's fine for you. You can go to sleep while meditating. When you wake up after a sleep, you should meditate for a few more minutes and then lie down again and rest for 4–5 minutes.

We drink a lot of water and try our best to eat healthy food. We can even skip that piece of cake to avoid harmful sugars. Muscle tension and tightness come as the body receives a calming message to relax.
