"Contest Alert !!! || "Domestic Violence".

Hello greetings everyone on this great community I'm @samuelnkenta from Nigeria, I'm glad to participate in this contest which is about "Domestic violence" and I appreciate @abdullahw2 for organizing sure an interesting contest for everyone to engage and learn something in the end.

What do you know about Domestic Violence? Explain in 2 paragraphs.

domestic violence is a kind of intimate violence which happens between two partner or relationship during the reaction one partner will seek to apply force and power which could have and advantaged to control the other one during the violence.

In other words domestic violence is the violence that happens within two close partner, the close partner can be: relationship, within best friend, within parents and children, which involves physical power to apply force in other to control the other one through fighting and bullying.

Briefly Explain at least three main types of domestic Violence.

There are many types of domestic violence but since the hint say I should list and explain three of the domestic violence I will also do so as the says below are the types of domestic violence:

. EMOTIONAL ABUSE: This is the type of abuse in which the victim is being blackmailed emotionally, It is the use of speech to make the victim feel bad, it aims to destroy the victim's self-worth, it is mostly common in relationships, it includes constant name calling, looking down on anything the victim is doing which makes the victim feel he or she is not worthy of anything. Regular insults, discrimination, humiliation, and criticism. It is a difficult form of abuse that people often think is easy to withstand.

. Physical abuse: this is when people are forced to take an action which is harmful to them in anyway round, like maltreating, beating, fighting, using of weapon, slapping, kicking, bunching etc. And this things are not supposed to be done.

. Financial abuse: Another type is the financial one, in which the abuser takes control over the financial situation of the victim, thus having an impact on the decisions concerning the seclusion from an abusive partner. This entails not allowing banking operations, denying one the right to work, or making financial decisions on behalf of the victim unlawfully. Economically, due to the financial dependence on the abuser, the victims gets finds it hard to leave the relationship.

Why is it important to raise awareness about domestic violence in society?

It is very very important announce an awareness about domestic violence and how it should be stop, because it is not contributing to growth of a family.

Without the awareness of it, the next generation will go ahead and do the same violence to their next generation family.

Domestic violence also can lead to death of human, physical and even spiritually, fighting in a family can easily leads to death of other person, or even the children who don't like such manner. It can even lead to commiting of suicide, so it should be announce and make known to people to stop Domestic violence.

Without the awareness of Domestic violence it can also leads to homelessness, orphans, stealing, killing, bad society. When the children never experience happiness can lead them to bad group of people, when they haven't eaten for long, makes them to steal, leaving the house to street to find peace of mind which they now become orphans, begers, thieves etc.

I have witnessed a man beating up his wife because she attended a Christian meeting. So this man came to our place of worship and beat up the wife because he asked her not to attend Christian meetings, she couldn't stay back but kept on coming, so one day, this man came to our hall and waited for his wife outside the gate, when the meeting was over he attacked the wife, beat her up and injured her with a stone, before men could interrupt he had already injured her and fled.

Personally, that was a bad experience; it is just a Minor issue that could have been settled peacefully, not with violence,e because the wife did not stay back from attending the meetings; she kept coming all the time, which shows that it is not everything that needs to be settled violently.

Conclusively, Domestic violence is a physical abuse which happens either in the community or at home. It is a situation in which someone exercises power in an abusive way over another. Domestic violence can be physical, emotional, or sexual, and in my opinion, domestic should be highly prohibited. Victims of domestic violence should make use of the laws set by the government for abstinence from domestic violence to make the perpetrators pay for their sins, therefore refraining from such prohibited acts. And finally, the public should be sensitized to domestic violence. let's stop here.
