One of the earliest sites of human settlement in Asia and located in the northwest of the Pothohar plateau of Punjab, Islamabad the beautiful city is the capital of Islamic Republic of Pakistan; my home. The area consists of lush greenery everywhere surrounded by magnificent hills is the part of mesmerizing art of nature. It is well known for its logistics, aesthetics, scenic beauty and nature. Its charm and beauty hypnotize and enthrall a person. Probably, Shakespeare has rightly said;
“One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.”

I’m not a resident of Islamabad in fact I’m a dweller of Toba Tek Singh that’s almost 398 km. away from the capital. But its magnificence and grandeur allure me to such an extent that I can’t feel any hesitation in traveling for hours to satiate my thirst of nature. I believe in the kind words of John Steinbeck;
“People don’t take trips, trips take people.”

First of all, lets talk about the recreational spots of the city. The star and crescent-shaped national Monument looks like a Pakistani Flag and represents four provinces and three territories of the state. Being famous for the planted trees and central fountain, Shakespearean hills give a panoramic view of the whole city from its summit. Daman-e-koh is the most popular picnic and amusement point that is well known for its restaurants offering opulent cuisine to foreigners. The sprawled scenic wonderlands including National Park at Margala Hills, Fatima Jinnah Park, Lake View Park, Murghzar mini zoo, and Japanese Children Park are one of the most exotic places for rehabilitation of the most diverse flora and fauna of the state. Who want to explore the unconventional fauna can visit the wildlife sanctuaries like the National Park. Probably William Cowper has rightly said;
“God made the country and man made the town.”

The most imposing and sumptuous place that I like the most in Islamabad is the Faisal Mosque which is a contemporary and influential piece of Islamic Architecture. During his official visit to Pakistan, King Faisal Bin Abdul Ariz supported the initiative of the Pakistani government to build this national mosque.
Not only Islamabad is the center of a wide variety of expressions of the folk and traditional cultural legacy of Pakistan. The most well-known place is the Lok Virsa Museum that’s located near Shakarparrian hills and displays manifolds of folkloristic things.

Now lets talk about the shopping and dining places of the city. .Jinnah Super Market is an iconic shopping area that hosts various dining areas, the trendiest designer shops, cafes etc Aabpara, Melody Market and Jinnah Super Market are the most comprehensive and oldest markets that attract throngs of people. The commercial hub of the capital is the Blue area that’s actually the central business district. Moreover, Peshawar Mor is the hawker’s Paradise.
In Addition it’s the centre of a large number of educational and health sectors that are of both private and public institutes.
