What do you know about Domestic Violence? Explain in 2 paragraphs.

Domestic violence, is common or mostly happen between people who are in an intimate relationship. It can also be referred to as domestic abuse. It occurs when one of the people in an intimate relationship abuse the other person, either physically, emotionally, sexually etc and feels it is acceptable or justifiable.

Domestic violence or abuse can be through pushing, hitting, threatening, or restraining etc.
People of all genders (but mostly women), races, ages and backgrounds can be affected by domestic violence. It has a lot of consequences which may include,,, depression, injury or possibly results to death in terrible cases.

Briefly Explain at least three main types of domestic Violence.

Domestic violence has alot of types, but the three most common and main ones are below;

1. Physical Violence: It is a situation whereby one of the people in an intimate relationship harm the other person physically,,, This involves hitting, pushing, kicking, or using Sharp objects or possibly weapon. And it mostly results to disabilities, injuries or death.

2. Emotional Violence: It violence usually affects the victim emotionally alot, cause it has to do with emotions. It occurs as a result of manipulation, humiliation, verbal abuse, intimidations etc. And in this case, the victim can possibly end up with anxiety, or being depressed.

3. Sexual Violence: This happens when a person is being forced to indulge in sexual act, they victim are mostly raped, forced to go into reproductive control or forced pregnancy. This particular violence can make the victim to be emotionally traumatized, or the victim can also be affected with sexual transmitted infections.

Domestic abuse can have a long lasting effects on the victims, irrespective of the type.

Why is it important to raise awareness about domestic violence in society?

Domestic violence awareness is very important for so many reasons,,, but I will mention just few below;

It will help victims not to be much isolated and they will be able to to speak out, in order to get help and support.

The shame and the blames that are often associated with domestic voilence because of lack of the knowledge, will reduce drastically.

Healthy relationships, and respect can be promoted through creation of awareness about the negative effects of domestic voilence.

Through awareness and education, the victims will have easy assess to support networks, and services, which will make their healing and recovery speedy.

By creating awareness, we can build a more supportive, healthy and safer environment for everyone.And the society can be free from domestic voilence as well.

To be honest with this question, I grew up in an environment where domestic voilence is really rare.

So as a result of that, I have never seen a real case of domestic voilence in my entire life.
Though I have heard of several domestic voilence cases and how dangerous and deadly it can be.

Therefore, I pray and hope that I don't witness or become a victim of domestic voilence 🙇🙏🙏
