Asia a little child lived in a small village surrounded by green fields. Asia was known for having a kind heart and a lovely smile. She had a kind but comfortable home with her mother fatma. Despite their lack of wealth love and laughter could always be found in their home. Vegetables from Asia and fatma little garden offered their income. They would go to the market in the next town every morning packed up with vegetables. These were Asia favorite adventures since she got to meet new people and make people happy with her happy welcome. Asia once saw an old man sitting by himself on a bench while they were getting ready their display.

His clothes were torn and dirty and he looked hungry and exhausted. Asia was really in love with him. Fatma heard her voice with an expression of understanding. Asia went up to the old man after getting a basket full of fresh vegetables. She said Hello sir "How about some vegetables? They recently came from our garden. The old man raised his head pleasure shining in his eyes. His voice broke as he said Thank you my dear. You are really kind. Asia took a seat beside him and gave him some of her lunch which consisted of bread and cheese. While they ate an old man told them stories from his life. He was a farmer once but a terrible flood had destroyed everything.

He had been walking around since that time looking for a job and food. Asia and fatma closed their stall as the sun was setting. Asia invited the old man to have dinner at their house. After a moment of hesitation he accepted their polite offer. Together they went back to the village laughing and talking like old friends. Fatma made a very simple yet very tasty dinner at home. As he ate the old man eyes shined with happiness. It had been days since he had a healthy dinner. Asia took him to a small guest room where he could spend the night after dinner. The old man awoke feeling refreshed the next morning. He was grateful to Asia and fatma for their hospitality.

They will bring you luck if you plant them wherever you go. Tears covered the old man eyes. I will always remember your kindness he said. I appreciate you giving me hope. As the years went by Asia developed into a kind and giving young lady. Just like she helped an old guy she kept helping people in need. She saw a stranger coming one day as she was taking care of her garden. He was an old man his eyes kind and his smile sweet. He said, "Asia, do you remember me?

Asia took a closer look and saw it was the same old man she had assisted years before. He appeared happier and healthier. Obviously I remember you she replied with a kind smile. The old man took a lovely the arrangement of flowers from his bag. He answered These are from the seeds you gave me. They made me happy and wealthy. You have thanks for your kindness. Asia felt happiness fill her heart. I appreciate you going back she said. To me your visit means the world. For several days the old stayed and helped Asia and fatma in their garden. His knowledge of farming was shared and soon their garden was growing more abundantly than before. He gave Asia a small wooden box before he left.

When you need an idea of the effect of kindness open this he said. Asia stored the box away from prying eyes. She opened it years later during an especially difficult moment. She saw a message that said Kindness is like a seed inside. Plant it and it will develop into a lovely thing. Asia eyes filled with tears as she read the note. She understood that the small deed of kindness she had performed years before had grown into a valuable friendship and lesson that she would always remember. Thus the story of Asia and an old man became a history in that small village. Everyone was reminded that the smallest acts of kindness have the power to forever change someone life.
