Child Labor

One of the problems of populous Bangladesh is child labor. A lot of young children are doing risky work either because of society or because of family. Some are driving rickshaws, some are selling flowers, and some are in tea shops. Some poor people in Bangladesh prefer this child labor because a lot of work can be done with little money. Currently, the number of child laborers in our country is increasing twice after covid-19. According to experts, millions of children are forced to work in various institutions due to poverty and are subjected to physical and mental abuse at work.
The root causes of child labor are complex and interconnected, encompassing factors such as poverty, lack of access to education, social and cultural norms, and insufficient legal protections. In many cases, families living in poverty are compelled to send their children to work in order to supplement household income, exacerbating the problem further.
Addressing the issue of child labor requires a concerted effort from all sectors of society, including governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and communities. Efforts must focus on providing access to quality education, strengthening legal protections, improving economic opportunities for families, and fostering social change to challenge the attitudes and practices that perpetuate child labor.
Child labor is not only in our Bangladesh, it exists in many countries of the world. People of middle-class poor countries like us do this kind of work. Some of these children are not allowed to dream, but in the urge to earn a living, many of them are now averse to education. In which direction is the future of these children going?

Where can you find the answer to such a question? I think that in order to bring these children back to a normal life, first of all they need to bring wealth from the family side because of the poverty of the family, child labor has increased and if there is wealth in the family, it can prevent the children from doing all these risky jobs and also those who do such work. Skilled development should be brought under technical education and not general education.

Really, if we write about this child labor, a lot of things will be written. I don't want any child to be left behind. Today's child is the future of tomorrow, so I don't want our next generation to go to the dark side of the future. Educate them - keep their beautiful mind inside. Ultimately, ending child labor requires a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of every child, ensuring that they have the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

Child labor is a pressing issue not only in Bangladesh but in many countries worldwide. Poverty, lack of access to education, and societal norms contribute to this problem. It's crucial for all sectors to collaborate to provide education, legal protections, and economic opportunities to combat child labor. Every child deserves a chance to learn and thrive in a safe environment.
