Greetings to you all, thank God the community has chosen to take part in the contest, and I am happy to participate. Since the contest is about festival I will love to write a little about the one I love so much.
ABOUT CALABAR CARNIVAL
This is 2022 calabar festival
Calabar festival is the festival I love so much which I don't like missing it, it comes up every December.
The theme was tittle “Agro-Industrialization”
2022 Carnival Calabar the Governor of cross river has already promise us that the carnival, will be the first after the COVID-19 era, promising that “we will give you the carnival you can ever think of “
The seven competing bands in that year’s Carnival Calabar were; Seagull, Passion 4, Masta Blasta, Bayside, Freedom, Diamond and Calas Vegas
INFORMATION ABOUT THE CARNIVAL
Calabar Carnival & Festival is an annual event, it is a special and popular cultural festival which displays African culture and heritage by means of music, drama, dressing and other cultural creativities of talented persons.
The carnival took place from 1st of December 2022 to 31st December 2022 then the flag off was 16th December 2022 and the location was at the Millenium Park roundabout
The festival has batter the cultural aspect of the Nigerian people.
The traditional ruler of the state that usually hosts the festival is well known as Obong in the Efik language and all their cabinets will was fully present in this unique cultural carnival.
All the traditional title holders and worthy illustrious sons and daughters were all present in the carnival which attracts over two million spectators from various parts of the world who come to watch the great cultural display and they were dressed in Thier traditional attire to reflect on the cultural carnival.
The Calabar cultural carnival is not for Calabar indigenes and the Efik tribe; it is for everybody who appreciates culture.
who initiated calabar festival
This festival was initiated by the formal governor of cross river state in honour of Mr. Donald Duke, because of his vision he then brought in the carnival and because of that the state was the number one tourist place and hospitality in Nigeria as well as Africa.
One thing I love about this carnival is that they provide entertainment for people.
This carnival is the pride of African heritage
TIME TABLE FOR THE CARNIVAL
1st – 10th December was the Millennium Week, 12th – 17th December was the Sports Week. 19th -24th December was the TINAPA Family Festival, 25th -31st December was the Carnival Week

I was not aware about such festival, looking at the photos that reminded me the carnival in Brasilia too, because of such colourful costumes and dancing people.
The month of celebration it is almost like fest for the whole nation, good to include sport and family. Love the tradition.
