Introduction

The third week of the Steemit engagement challenge season 7 validity period is fading away but before it ends, I will be sharing my last participation for the week. And this would be my food diary for the 28th day of January 2023. I've got a piece to share and I welcome you to my blog.

My Food Diary

For this morning, my breakfast is Moin moin. I have been craving this meal because I have not consumed it over the past two weeks, my body system missed it and I chose to prepare it again like I used to, I'm a fan of homemade.

Moin moin is peculiar to the Western part of Africa, it's a very popular meal in the southwestern part of Nigeria where I come from. Some call it bean budding because it is produced majorly from beans. The ingredients for my breakfast are:

  • Black-eyed beans.
  • Bell Pepper and Onions.
  • Vegetable oil and other spices.

Some use boiled eggs and crayfish to fill in Moin moin but I have not used any for today. It's very easy to prepare, all one has to do is blend all the ingredients until it's smoothly blended then have it poured in portions into containers (tins, banana leaves, transparent cooking nylons and so), placed them in a pot filled with water and allow it to cook for an average of 30mins.

Breakfast- Moin moin

Above is my breakfast and it was consumed alongside a cup of milk. There are a lot of benefits of the meal and one of them is that it aids digestion, apart from being a delicious meal, I eat this delicacy because of this particular health benefit.

Most days, I don't eat lunch because I must have been fixed doing one thing or the other and most times, I ended up just taking fruits or snacks. For the day, I have chosen watermelon which happens to be one of my most consumed fruit.

Lunch- Watermelon

For the lunch, I have not eaten the watermelon alone but have it sprinkled with powdered milk, I love to consume it this way on a few occasions. Watermelon keeps one hydrated and if this is not established medically, common sense is enough to tell one truly it serves this purpose because it has a lot of water content. It's a meal on its own.

There are other health benefits of watermelon like promoting the healthiness of the heart, removing oxidative stress, and so on. And for the milk, everyone knows how important it is in our meals.

It's dinner time and I have chosen Spaghetti. This has been an important part of my meal, it's consumed at least once a week on average. It is a meal that is rich in energy-giving nutrients, aids digestion, and lots more.

Dinner- Spaghetti and Fish Stew

My spaghetti was served with fried fish stew which balances the meal with the presence of some vitamins in the stew ingredients and fish being a very rich source of protein. Water was the only liquid drank alongside the meal.

Conclusion

In conclusion, eating healthy is very important and monitoring what our body system needs at each time or what is lacking is key to maintaining a good working body system. My meals for the day contained a lot of essential nutrients to an acceptable level to keep the body working well.

I live alone and these meals are cooked by me, like I said earlier that I'm a big fan of homemade. I recommend these meals to everyone because they are highly nutritious. It's a pleasure writing in this contest and I hereby invite @pelon53, @xkool24, and @carlaisl to also take part. Thank you.

That was you having three of the major classes of food consumed in a day. Your breakfast which was moi-moi is a large source of plant protein that aids replenishment of worn out tissues.

Your Lunch was mainly the watermelon fruit and you choose one that is timely of the weather condition that is dehydrating. The large water content in this fruit helps in hydrating the body while also enjoying the other vitamins inherent in it.

Your source of energy was your dinner. Spaghetti is large source of carbohydrate that helps in supplying the required energy levels of the body.
