SEC-S17 /W2| "What if you were the president of your country?"

Leadership work is full of great task and responsibilities, I have been privileged to be in a place of a leader, in which I led a small group of people and I would say it is not an easy work, then imagine carrying the affair of country, so to be a president won't be really an easy task. But if it happens for me to be a president, I would make sure that I become one, people will always remember as a hero.

If I am the president of my country, my first three priorities is to develop

• Defends system
  Insecurity has really been high in the country I live in, everyday you will be hearing of abduction, killing and so much, so I won't want to lead a country where this effect is high, I would take steps in increasing the security of my country, within and outside.

• Technology system
  We are now in the digital area and we are way behind, that is why we import most things to the country in which affect our currency, so if I can effect the technological system positively it will help improve the country for good, could help other sectors like agriculture, manufacturing and including the health sector.

• Sport sector
  Past government have overlooked this sector but they fail to acknowledge how this sector could be beneficial, and how much could be achieved by setting up this area.

• Improving the school facilities; Looking at the educational system today, it is quite unfortunate that we are still way behind. So if I become the president, the first thing to do is to upgrade the classes, to what a standard modern class would look like today, which the student will find it comfortable and this will improve leaning.

• Changes in educational scheme of work; The scheme of work which the school is using now is quite old, the world is moving and we should not be stagnant in our learning, I would make effort in changing the scheme of works, so that student won't be left behind

• Employment of good teachers; Would take further steps when it comes to employment of teachers, would examine a high quality requirement in other to access teachers,before taking them in, to ensure good professional teachers are being employed.

• Establishment of bursary program for University students; Everyone has different capacity, and it is sure that, not everyone will have the capacity to acquire school fees even if it will be cheap, in that case, I as the president will set up a bursary program for student, to make sure they continue with their academics.

If I am the president of my country, certain steps I would take to ensure that the healthcare system is being improved to a better standard includes the following;

• Establishment of an healthcare team; The first thing I would do as a president is to set up a team in each state that would look after healthcare system, I personally would not have much time to look at the healthcare system alone or to travel to different state to see how the system is going, cause I might have other work to do, but this won't mean that I won't visit at all, therefore, the team will be my eyes and hears, this would help me in taking more right actions in other to improve the system.

• Allocation of funds to carry out healthcare facilities project; After the establishment of healthcare teams in each state, funds would be allocated to each team to carry out building project of hospitals, this would make the project easy and fast and could also expand the work to places people will have easy access to the hospital, then pass into law that an agreed percentage of tax collected by the state would be given to the healthcare team of that state for management of the affair of the hospital, this would be use to provide the necessary equipment used in the hospital.

• Employment of skilled doctors; We would take further steps in employing doctors who are ready to save life, and would pass into law that doctors should save life first and not their pocket, that if it happens that you break the law, such doctor would be punish by law, this action would protect innocent people from dying caused by greedy doctors who chooses to save their pocket.

Corruption is one of the major challenge I would encounter as a president, people would want to embezzle project funds which would have benefited the masses, this would lead to criticism by the masses and cause resistant which they would show a lackadaisical attitudes toward the growth of the country, such which include failure to comply with the government by not paying tax. And when there is no enough money to execute project, this becomes a big challenge.

If I could work with my three top priorities, I would be able to write history in my country, building a strong defence, which is something past leaders have find it difficult to do and also I made mention of the sport sector, which is not really looked after in my country today, when you check the list of leagues in the whole world, the Nigeria league is not really heard and recognise, imagine after becoming president, the sport sector is now top and really recognise by the whole world, this would be something new that would write history in my country.
