Steem is a blockchain database which gears towards building community and social interactions among people using cryptocurrency to reward. And its also combines what is obtainable from other social media platforms but in a unique sense.
An important key in the steem Blockchain is Engagement, through consistent engagement, a lot of people are inspired to participate in the community.
Steem is the first cryptocurrency that attempts to accurately and transparently reward its users who make subjective and valuable contributions to its community.

Steem is an incentivized Blockchain that has a public contents creating platform that rewards its users through:
• Creating quality contents
• Commenting on another user's post
• Voting on another user or curation
• And even through delegating your steem power (sp).

I remembered last year December when I was introduced to steemit by my church member @mesola, I was skeptical I didn't take it serious so I told her that anything they would ask for money either for registration or whatever that I'm not interested, so she laughed over it and responded to me that the platform is absolutely free but I need to work hard so as to make my money. Then I wrote my introduction post on 12 Dec, 2023 precisely.
It all started when we got talking and she asked me what I was doing, then I complained to her about wanting to quit my job that I wasn't growing in the job, and I didn't have that job satisfaction again, coupled with high cost of living in my country due to the present economy; if I get paid, the small money would finished on transportation fare and there was nothing left for me to take home. Year in, year out it was the same story and people especially my family members counted for me to be working, they had expectations on me, some even labeled me "stingy" because to them I was working so I suppose to give when asked but I didn't, because I barely had enough.

So when I got introduced to a platform that I can comfortably sit in the comfort of my home to make money without having to pay transport on daily basis, I was so excited and overwhelmed.
Although I was advised that it will take hard work, patience and determination before I could earn but I didn't mind as long as I'd still earn some money at the end of the day.

So I started blogging, I was just everywhere 😀, I surfed the different communities looking for contests to participate, making aquintance and then I started making progress by the grace of the Almighty and hard work. And booooooom I withdrew my first #5,000 naira that's like 17 steem in today's steem price. Chai!, I was overjoyed and I was like so this thing is not fake o, then I started putting more efforts, then came SBD chai!!!! my joy got doubled; please you guys should bring back our sbd, thank you 😀😀.

Now, what I have benefited from this platform:

I have really benefited a lot from steemit, I have discovered a talent I never knew I have, that's writing skills and meeting some great minds in the likes of @patjewell, @ngoenyi @chant @dove1 @goodybest, my darlings I can't mention all, so to everyone that our paths has crossed. Kudos.
