Assalamu Alaikum everyone. I am very happy to publish my entry in the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season19 Week 6 in the Hindwhale Community. Especially this time the topic really matches the current scenario. Because the topic is "How are social medias affecting our society in both good and bad ways?" Social media is a virtual platform that people use for both good and bad purposes. Anyway, I will share my opinion in front of you on this subject through this challenge.

What are the benefits of social media to our society?

Social media which we understand in Bengali means social communication. If I want to elaborate a bit, when people communicate with each other through various websites and applications and also through the internet people share their various personal or social content, we call it social media in simple words. Social media has become very popular among people in the current context precisely because of these reasons. I present to you its advantages below:

• Connectivity : The main advantage of social media is connectivity. One of the ways to share any information and keep in touch with each other is social media.

• Education : I think social media has opened up new doors for education. Nowadays there are many students who acquire knowledge from social media.

• Promotion : All types of business organizations in the world promote their products through social media. Also, social media has given a huge opportunity to gain recognition in the world by promoting various social platforms like Steemit.

• Awareness : Social media plays an important role in disseminating various social awareness information. It helps in creating social awareness for people as well as improving the quality of life.

• Marketing : Social media can be said to be the best option for product marketing in the world. In different countries like Bangladesh, entrepreneurs in private ownership are providing their products and services to the people of the country without any kind of shop rent, only without social media.

What are the evils caused by social media in our society?

As much as social media brings many benefits to us, it also causes many evils in our society. Now the thing is that how we use social media is completely up to us. Because this social media can either change our life or ruin it. I have presented below in the form of points what kind of evils social media causes in society.

• Any of our information or sites are hacked through social media. Because of which we are facing losses in many cases.

• Due to social media addiction, our youth is suffering from mobile addiction. Due to this, the quality of life of people is disrupted.

• Because of social media, we fear that our personal information will be leaked. Due to which the honor of people is defamed.

• Excessive use of social media as well as mobile and computer usage has a detrimental effect on our health.

• Due to social media, some mischievous rumors of various information are spread in our society. Social peace is destroyed by this.

• Because of social media, there is a chance to isolate us from our friends and family. This is one of the fatal consequences of social media.

Is social media really useful for common people or corporate companies?

Yes, definitely. Social media is very useful for common people as well as for corporate companies. If it can be used correctly. Because even though common people use it for their personal needs, social media marketing in corporate companies is very affordable and a perfect place to start any company with a limited budget. Also any common person or any corporate company can use social media as a powerful tool to market their services.

• Effective Marketing and Advertising : Social media plays an important role in marketing and advertising to build brand awareness and increase customer trust. If a sole proprietorship or company is doing social media marketing outside of traditional advertising rules, this approach is very effective in reaching customers quickly.

• Increasing the market reach of a product or company : Social media helps a lot in increasing the market reach of a product or company. When you promote a product or a company's service through social media, it will reach customers in a cost-effective way and the market reach of that product or company will be.

• Communicating with customers : Social media is one of the best ways to communicate with customers. Through this we are able to communicate directly with the customers without any travel cost.

• Increasing website traffic : Social media is very effective in increasing the traffic of corporate company websites. This increases the popularity of the corporate company along with the increase in website traffic which brings profit to the company.

Give your personal opinion and conclusion about social media.

My personal opinion about social media is that nowadays it has become an integral part of our lives as people are now connected to social media from the moment they wake up in the morning to the time they go to bed at night. And whether this social media is making us social or unsocial can be debated. But I think social media has brought a lot of benefits to a social system as well as many unscrupulous circles have misused it by harnessing its power. It depends entirely on the user.

As social media is an essential part of our lives, both its advantages and disadvantages impact our daily lives. So we have to be alert and cautious in its use. In conclusion, if used properly, I can enjoy the benefits of social media and avoid the pitfalls to live a balanced and successful life.
