Steemit Engagement Challenge / S19/W2 - "Life without electricity"
Hello, good day to my Steemian friends. Today, I started my SEC contest series with the Hind Whale Community. As we all know, electricity is the most common form of energy in modern society. We would have had a difficult time without electricity, as it has become an important part of our daily lives. So, I thank @hindwhale for bringing up this topic for discussion. Now let’s move to the topic.
We have adapted to an electronic world, living without electricity means reverting to a simpler way of life. Without electricity, our lives and work will change drastically. When the light is not functioning at our home, our activities will be limited after sunset.
We have to cook with gas and wood, which will take more effort and time. We had to spend more time shopping as the refrigerator was not functioning. Food waste will increase due to a lack of preservation facilities.
We will have to limit communication by landlines, letters, and personal conversations. As there is no electricity, we need not hang over mobile phones and social media, instead, we can interact with nature and family members, friends, and relatives. This will help to create a good relationship with our surroundings.
When social media and the internet are no longer functioning, we may devote our time to more appropriate hobbies such as reading, traveling, and other worthwhile tasks.
At office work, electricity is required to power computers, internet, intercoms, photocopiers, air-conditioning, fans, and other electrical devices. Therefore, hereinafter it will be difficult to run an office without electricity.
To live a hassle-free life without electricity, we can use a variety of equipment to replace electronic devices. In terms of lighting, we can use candles, oil lamps, kerosene oil lamps, and petromax lamps. As a sustainable energy source, we can rely on solar power. We can use a gas or wood burner for cocking. We can reserve food using ancient methods like drying, salting, smoking, and even burying in sand, much as the ancient people did. To obtain news and information, we can use a battery-powered radio. In addition, to communicate with people we can use landline phones. When it comes to housework, we can use a washing board and hand-to-wash dirty linen, hand-cracked mixes, and blenders for cutting and chopping. For cleaning, we can use non-electric vacuum cleaners.
My home was in a rural place; therefore, I did not have access to electricity throughout my early life. If we could survive without electricity when we were younger, why can't we now? The problem is that we have adapted to the world with electricity. Therefore, coping with life without electricity would be challenging but possible. I recall my parents using petromax lamps, kerosene oil lamps, candles, and oil lamps in our home at night. My father brought a truck battery, and using that we watched television. To preserve food, they used traditional ways such as smoking, drying, salting, and burying under sand. Instead of using electric appliances for housework, they used hand implements for chopping and cutting. She manually cleaned our clothes. In this way, if they can survive without electricity, I, too, may be able to adapt to a world without electricity, no matter how difficult.

Hi dear
How are you? I hope that you are fine by the grace of Allah Almighty and I'm good too Alhamdulillah. Without electricity our lives would be difficult and challenging. Un the absence of electricity we would rely on traditional methods to communicate with one another through letter writing and to preserve food we would rely on traditional methods such as drying and canning. Best of luck for contest.

It would be bad to stay without electricity in this modern world that we are which almost everything go with the use of electricity. Thank you for inviting me, and best of luck to you.
Thanks a lot for your kind words.
Hi! Hope you are doing great. I read your post and i came to know that life without electricity harks back to a simpler time, reliant on natural light and manual labor. It fosters a deeper connection with nature, but also presents significant challenges in comfort and convenience. Modern tasks become monumental, highlighting our dependency on this crucial energy source.
Thank you for taking your time to read my post and your lovely feedback.
