“Steemit Engagement Challenge - S13/W5 - 90's vs 2K
Greetings, @hindwhale Community |
---|
I am here to participate in the challenge POST LINK inside the community because somehow I can relate this phase and have witnessed the changes.
As per the regulations of the challenge, I would love to invite @kouba01, @irawandedy, @inspiracion, and @goodybest to participate in this challenge.
Now, let me proceed with my perspective on this subject.
If you lived in both generations, like 90s and 2k, which one did you like the most? |
---|
I do not just like but treasure going to the 90s if I had the opportunity. So, vastly things I missed now, whether it is about relationships, atmosphere, everything was different from 2k.
Social gathering and relationships with not only family;
but neighbors were equally valuable.
There was no flat culture like 20k, and people valued staying in a united family rather than in a shell of a nuclear family.
How is school life now, and what was it like in the nineties? |
---|
Ahhh! I am getting emotional while responding to this question. Drastic changes I can see now, especially going through the lockdown;
I have seen how teachers are taking online classes and how students are taking part in those classes.
Honestly, the most valuable thing I am missing in 20k is healthy competition in the education system.
She was silent and obedient, and I was just like the contrast;(still now, unfortunately!)🤫
Nowadays, in the 20k, friendships and relationships are capped in WhatsApp, and people have become too busy to focus on themselves rather than socializing.
Compare 90s entertainment with 2K entertainment. |
---|
I remember my father bought one smallish cherry red Sony cassette player from the Abroad.
Besides playing, our entertainment was shrouded by that cassette player!
Later, he had also purchased a disc player, but that Sony cassette player was the best.
Songs of the 90s, still people enjoy listening to. Now, while writing my content,
The 90s songs are playing in the puja pandal because of Diwali.
They are evergreen, no comparison with 20k!
That doesn't mean I do not love 20k songs;
Some are also on my favorite list, but not all.
Compare 90's and 2K's games/sports |
---|
(Games 2k people love to play) |
---|
In 20k, children relish playing alone and sitting at home with robots! Now children;
find entertainment in video games, online games, etc.
In the 90s, outdoor games were preferred predominantly!
That is one reason children do not suffer from physical illness readily like now;
because that was a routine exercise that we followed regularly.
At least I can't remember one day when I wouldn't go outside to play. Besides that, every day, I used to practice Yoga early in the morning;
And I participated in various competitions.
Compare the sweets from the 90s and the 2Ks. |
---|
(Homemade sweets made by me) |
---|
I have seen in the '90s, my grandmother and mother always made most of the sweets at home. My father always loved homemade food. Because of that, we were also accustomed to them.
Because of his job, my father visited various countries, and he always bought different spices and sauces from them and learned cooking methods from the local people of that country.
(2k sweets that most of the people enjoy) |
---|
When he comes back home,
My father always experiments with those foods at home;
sometimes he succeeds, sometimes he doesn't!
When he came to succeed;
On that day, my mother wrote those recipes in her diary.
That is the reason I started my journey as a food blogger here!
(2k children's favourite food) |
---|
Now, everything comes through online!
So many recipes come under lost recipes.
People are addicted to junk foods and often suffer from different health issues because of that reason.
That was all from my side. If you enjoy reading my content
then, do not forget to share your comments. Stay tuned and blessed.

My friend you have a great post here. Indeed people these days focus on WhatsApp and themselves as compared to socializing. You rightly stressed the 2k flat barrier had reduced the socialization amongst the people reducing United family to a handful of nuclear family. Success in the challenge
Hey friend . Nice entry
Aside from physical education and sports, the school experience in the 90s and 2k has also changed in other ways. One notable difference is the amount of time students spend in front of screens, whether it's computers, tablets, or phones. In the 90s, computer use in schools was limited, but it's now common for students to use devices for everything from research to taking notes to communicating with classmates. This has brought many benefits, like greater access to information and improved communication, but it has also raised concerns about the effects of too much screen time on students' eyesight, posture, and mental health.
In the 90s, robotics was still a relatively new and niche field, with only a few schools offering classes or clubs related to robotics. In the 2k, robotics has become much more widespread, with many schools offering classes, competitions, and even robotics teams. This is due in part to the development of more user-friendly and affordable robotics kits, like the LEGO Mindstorms kit. This has allowed more students to get involved in robotics and learn skills like coding, engineering, and problem-solving. Robotics has also become a popular pathway for students interested in STEM careers.
In the 90s, the Sony cassette was one of the most popular forms of entertainment, especially for young people. Many people had a Sony cassette player, and would spend hours listening to music or recording their own mixes. In the 2k, the Sony cassette has largely been replaced by digital technologies like streaming services and digital music players. While the Sony cassette may be a thing of the past, it had a lasting impact on the music industry and pop culture, and is still remembered fondly by many. ..
Thanks for sharing and good luck with the challenge...
