Steemit Engagement Challenge / S16/W4 - "Children Vs Extracurricular Activities "
Warmth greetings to all members of #Hindwhale-Community and the entire steemit blog in general. Welcome to S16/W4 of steemit engagement challenge. My entry post will be on a well selected topic which is children versus extracurricular activities.
To dive straight in, extracurricular activities are things children are eligible or entitled to do, out of their normal curriculum or sphere of work.
We mostly witnessed extra curricular activity mostly in the educational system where by students are entitled to carry out certain activities out of the school curriculum to harness the teaching learning process.
Extracurricular activities range from arts, athletics, service club and academic clubs. The various domain can be subdivided into.
- Arts: band, music, drama and dance club, visual arts.
- athletics: sports club or individual sports.
- service club: environmental club, hygiene and sanitation club.
- Academic club: Maths club, science club, student government, e.t.c
Extracurricular activities has been the forefront of every educational system, but the culture is gradually dying as children are getting used to the modern way of doing things with AI taking part in most of the things children ought to do. Take for instance children using AI to come out with school reports, do assignment is a serious trait to their mental development.
Unlike the traditional way of doing things in the past, extracurricular activities used to be the order of the day in every institution, by so doing children are able to interact, portray new skills, develop mentally and conform Well in the society.
Nowadays most children prefer not take part in extracurricular activities due to lazy excuses or one way or the other. Sometimes the authorities in charge do not give this children a chance as well to carry out this extracurricular activity which is a serious problem to the whole system.
I am a tutor and I have witness extra curricular activities, gradually dying in the educational system. Children are now focus on school work, assignments back home and then to school again. Again, the next morning holidays around and they go for good. I must spilt on this point, extracurricular activities should be reinstated in the educational system.
Before diving to the proposed problems statement of the day, I would like to take you on a tour witnessing an extracurricular activity in my institution.

Usually every first of October my institution usually carry out what we call open door day. On this day children are tasked with different duties ranging from science club, fashion and clothing, electrical engineering, building and construction, arts and drama, just to name a few
This activity help to boost the moral of the student and as well as that of the parents as they are able to see the potentials of their children and what they can portray while they are present on the show.
It also help boost the moral of the school and secure new admission positions come in the fort year as this activity are not only limited to parent teachers and children but to the general public as well.
Let's take a tour and see what they got for us.
This guys well charge to build a parapet wall gate. They did a fabulous job there. In fact, the parents were amazed with what they saw.
Here the students came out with an idea to assemble a drone which can fly. As you can see, they were still in process of assembly by the time this photo was taken.
The maths club was in charge of deriving an equation which could be able to calculate the dates in years. For instance, an equation to calculate the year 2024.
We ended event by taking on a friendly match with the students, so unfortunately they won us 2 goals to 1.
Enough being said, let's see how extracurricular activities reform the educational and the general system at large.

That is where extra curricular activity fits right in. Study study, study, it's not all students are supposed to do in an academic year. Extracurricular activities come to divert their mindset off from academic work for a while.
Below Are some of the benefits of extra curricular activity which are:
It helps children to develop new skills and interests in fields they knew nothing about until they give them a try.
When kids engaged in extracurricular activity, they got the opportunity to meet other kids and this helps them correlate and make new friends. Which is good for which I good and development.
Working together, children get to develop the spirit of teamwork and leadership skills which are quite much needed for our society to grow.
Extracurricular activity help improve time management and organizational skills of the child.

From my section, extracurricular activity is made a basic necessity for the children, so they grow in the system and love it quite well.
This is not the same case when I go out there. Most kids have indulged in the modern system of doing things, and such a way that extracurricular activities become boring to them. Nobody want to do something with their hands or so, they prefer the machine to do it for them.
From a clear perspective, most of the kids these days are forced to take part in extracurricular activities. I won't blame them that much. But it is the system they grow in that made them that way. Society has changed a lot compared to the traditional way.

The same answer goes here. Extracurricular activity is a forefront of a child's personal and mental development. Children who part take in extracurricular activities.. turn out be more dynamic, optimistic, enthusiastic and children who do not.
So I urge every parent so make sure their kids take part in extracurricular activities even if it comes to the point of forcing them to do so. They are not hurting them but doing them good.

Picking up extra curricular activities for children nowadays should be something, that will help boost their moral and will help them to be more productive in the society.
Children can engage in Atletic clubs, Arts and drama, service clubs, as this are all activities which can help them personally , As they might pick up a skill which will help them in the future. And this activities are all profitable to the society as well.
Rounding up. I will end here by saying extracurricular activities are a basic necessity for every child out there and parents should not take any excuses to withhold your child behind and let them not partake in extra curricular activities for any reason or the order.

Sports and other activities should be emphasized along with children's education. Games that involve physical labor help the child's physical growth.
