What Is Reel Video?

Reel videos are short videos that normally last about 60 - 90 seconds where users can include record, filters, edit, add effects and music, clip videos and photos together, and post to their feed.

In recent time, reels have becomes a function of Instagram app and other social platforms thereby becoming more readily accessible to the general public through smart phones, tablets and other devices at a minimal cost.

Watching Reel Video - Good or Bad?

The answer depends on a numbers of factors. These factors also differs in acceptance from person to persons judging from individual background, culture, norms and values. Other factors may be if the reels is educational incline, entertainment or marketing.

Therefore, to say whether a reel watching is good or bad depends solely on the viewers discretion on the reel topic, content and reactions. There is need to check the advantages of the reel such as follows:

Advantages

• Does it meant to grow your audience. Since the internet is an immeasurable and large market place, reel may gives access to some consumers who would not have otherwise participated in the forum, or whatever event the business chooses to present. This becomes an advantage of watching the reel.

• Reels reduces costs. Some individuals or corporate organisations prefer using reels as part of their training programs to train their new employees. This enable every individual concern to receives the same training and product information at the same time, thereby saving the organisation's money. It also reduce the cost of travel, lodging, and security. Hence, reels watching becomes good.

• Audience interaction. Having a face-to-face interaction with consumers allows the business to humanize themselves and then connect with their audience, when this allows the viewer from home to participate, it then potent that the reel watching is good.

Disadvantages of watching reel

• Content control is limited: Because viewers do not have control over the content of the reel it becomes possible for viewers to be exposed to offensive, irritating or inappropriate content, when this happens, reels watching becomes bad.

• Addictive: Reel video watching has the greater potential to become addictive to viewers, when this happens, it pose a detrimental effects to the addicted viewer like reduced productivity, reduce social interaction and increase social isolation.

• Limited Reel Accessibility: Viewers with poor internet connections or little available bandwidth might not be able to access reel videos, this pose a problem.

How to prevent oneself from getting addicted to reel watching

• Identify What Trigger you and avoid getting close to it.
• Set time limit for web surfing
• Replace Reels watching time with another activity
• Utilizing a Social Media Monitoring Tool to notify you
• Talk to Someone that can impact other positive things to you
• Be selective and do not go for any content
