Communication is part of our life and we make use of it everyday, it is the most important skills in our daily life, if not for communication we won't go anywhere in life.

Even to a lay-man communication skill is very important and powerful, because communication is a natural thing for everyone of us, even people that can not talk nor hear, yet communication methods have been made easier for them, like the use of sign language in communicating.
Good communication is not all about how good we talk to people but also how we listen to people's complaints or arguments and then give them a good response, these are the basic tools of effective communication.

In this my very short life on earth I've been made to understand that communication/dialogue is the only best way we can used in resolving an issue. And like I said earlier before that communication skill is not all about what you as a person is saying but your ability to listen carefully to the other person's talk and respond in a like-manner.
Communication skill is very essential in our daily lives, because with a good communication you can build a mutual trust among your peers, in your workplace between your co-workers. My communication skill have really helped me settle lot of argumentive issues in my family and make peace reign among us brothers and sisters and even in the compound I live, I discovered that when I am not around some crucial decisions are not been taken because they believe If I'm there I will be able to say one or two meaningful word.

There are lots of historical examples where Communication Skill is significant and play an important role in people's life. I was told that during some years back, during a Cuba crisis and cold war in 1961 down to 1962 that one Mr. John Kennedy and Khrushchev Nikita had an effective communication and that leads to the settlement of the conflict.
Another typical example is in politics, the change we see in the government and in other organizations in the world. Communication skill has been the channel the politician uses in convincing and confusing their subject into voting for them.

There are many ways to improve our communication skills, which are:
• Be a good listener and try to understand people's point of view before sharing your thoughts
• Have a good understanding of your environment, learn their language and use the language they understand
• Take control of your body language, like your facial expression and eye contact
• Be confident in yourself, kill the spirit of inferiority complex in you
• Increase your vocabulary and be mentally ready to maintain an eye to eye contact with others while talking with them.

Communication might seems difficult when you're facing an audience yet it is an easy tools to becoming a successful person in our professional lives. I also advise we try and stay around people by doing these we can learn different ways of communicating.

You're absolutely right, our country Nigeria needs to adapt good communication methods especially in the workspace, political aspect and even the organizational sector too.

Communication is a day to day thing we do. It gives us room to express our fears, worries, ideas, and skills for others to learn from us. Communication can bring conflict to an end, when the parties involved give room for dialogue. Communication should not be a one way thing.
