Good morning my dearly beloved steemians across the globe, how is the weather over there with you all, because in my state here it rains like cat and dog, and it's sending down cold to everyone, try and stay safe.

I want to say a big thank you to our dear admin @jyoti-thelight for always bringing up this wonderful contest for us to participate, as a lover of food that I am, I can never skip doing this contest.

Food Diary Contest

I will be talking about the food I prepared on Sunday, the name of the food I prepared was Red Oil Rice With Pumpkin Leaf. In my post I will tell you the ingredients I used and the simple method I also used in preparing my red oil rice.

Like I said earlier that it is a very simple method that I used in preparing my red oil rice, which everyone can prepare too if you follow this my simple method. So I will start by listing out the ingredients below for you to know.

Ingredients
  • Rice
  • Red oil
  • Maggi
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Bonga fish
  • Pumpkin Leaf
  • Onions
  • Crayfish

Preparation method

I parboiled the rice for about 15minutes, while the rice was on fire, I pound the crayfish, sliced onions and also sliced the pumpkin leaves and set aside.

When the rice has boiled very well, I poured it into the filter and washed it well, then pour it back into the pot again and added water to it, the quantity I needed.

Then I began to put all the ingredients into the Pot rice one after the other, which is pepper, salt, onions, crayfish, Bonga fish and Maggi, then I stir it all together and covered the pot and allowed it to cook.

After I have put all the ingredients into the pot of rice, I just covered the pot and allowed it to cook for about 20 to 30minutes, when the water in the rice began to dry off, that was when I put my sliced pumpkin leaves and also added red oil to it then I covered it again.

I stirred it a little after putting the pumpkin leaves then I covered the pot and allow it to steamer for 2 - 3minutes before I turned off the gas and my food was ready.
