Steemit Engagement Challenge S13W1- “"What obstacles have you faced/facing to fulfill your dream?

This is me @kathy-cute from Philippines and you are here Reading my Blog. I hope you all are enjoying the 12th season here. I am participating in the fourth week of this season. This is my participation in a contest What obstacles have you faced/facing to fulfill your dream.

I have a big related to my academic life. What I want since my childhood to become a nurse. Here we have too much scope of nursing in Philippine. They serve the masses and in response they get a huge love and respect. Sorry to I can't achieve that dream of mine.

Entering to a medical field is the dream since my younger age. When we were kids and playing with each other, I always told them to give me the role of doctor. They made me doctor and I I would really be happy when they used to make me doctor. I would treat them.

Though I knew I can't efford to be doctor, but I time and again told my parents that you should atleast study me nursing. After my college I have applied for many colleges, but I got admission only in two. They were too much far away of my village, so finance was an issue for that, plus they are not that much advance colleges.

I can see the hurdle in my dream was money. my family was too much poor so we can't efford the medical colleges fee. As I have mentioned I got admission in some colleges, but I can efford going there and staying on self expenses. Being a nurse is a sophisticated job here too, but it's destiny which couldn't meet me to my dream.

I have my friend Juliet, she is my childhood class fellow. She has great dream to become a doctor too, and she always motivated me too. We Both committed that we will must join the medical field. Unfortunately after college we both were in condition where we can't efford any college. She came here with me to the college I am currently studying at.

She along were very much dishearted, but I think she was more passionate and dedicated regarding her dream. Even she was here she still applied for the other colleges. Finally she got scholarship admission in one of the medical college in our village. She left this college and she is studying nursing course now.

The other things which pushed me to become a doctor was my family condition. I really wanted to do something for my family so we come out of this tough time. If you are a nurse or a doctor you earn too much respect here and earn good money too. The government gives you high salary.

It depends on person to person and the condition he/she have. Personally I think most of the time financial problem leads one to move away from the dream and desires he have. If you are not financially strong, no matter how much you are passionate, dedicate or serious you can't achieve high goals.

I thought the second most biggest reason which stop you achieving your goal is parents. Sometimes they don't understand the inner talent inside you and they force you to adopt a career they want. It also pushes the youth into wrong career.

Maybe the third reason which comes to mind is society. Sometimes you have the potential to do something, but you can't go for it, because you think that thing is odd in that society. For example, If you are adopting a career of being actress, it's considered too much odd in our society. No matter how talented you are, you have to ditch through your people.
