• Story behind the design of your national
flag.

My country, GHANA🇬🇭. The banner of Ghana was embraced upon the autonomy of the Territory of Ghana on March 6, 1957. The notorious Ghanaian artist Theodosia Okoh designed it in the same year. The flag was used until 1964, when it was reinstituted in 1966. The Ethiopian Pan-African colors of Red, Gold and Green are displayed in horizontal stripes on the Ghanaian flag.

In the middle of each gold stripe is a black five-pointed star. Although the colors are reversed, the Ghanaian flag is the alternate African flag with these colors after the Ethiopian Empire's. The design of the flag had an impact on the flag of Guinea- Bissau in 1973.

•What was the meaning of the symbols that
use in your country's flag?

The Ghanaian flag is a tricolor conforming of RED, GOLD and GREEN. The colors are a representation of the country's struggle for independence as well as a symbol of its rich resources in the country's position in comparison to other African countries. The three colors used are relatively memorable, with a star of the sky designed in a black color in the center and taking the center content of the gold color.

RED COLOR

The RED color on the Ghanaian flag was used to represent the nation's battle for autonomy from the Unified Kingdom ended the actuality of unmistakable Ghanaian settlers at that point. The big six were Edward Akufo Addo,Dr. Ako Adjei, William Ofori Atta, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Obetsebi Lamptey, and Osagyefor Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The big six were theanti-colonialist political party known as the United Gold Coast Convention( UGCC), which was formed to gain Ghanaian independence from British social rule. Red also symbolizes love, which may have had an impact on our ancestors since they led the fight for Ghana's independence out of love for the country.

GOLD COLOR

The gold color occupies the center line of the three-color appeal and stands for the mineral riches, which are mostly located in Ghana's Ashanti area and contribute to the nation's prosperity. One of Ghana's mineral resources is gold, which is mostly discovered in the Ashanti Region's Obuasi and the Western Region's Tarkwa. The name Ghana was originally given to Ghana because of its enormous gold resources, but it was subsequently altered as a result of the country's successful war for independence in 1957.Diamond, bauxite, and manganese are some of Ghana's other mineral resources.

GREEN COLOR

Ghana is known for its crop of cocoa, which was first brought to the country by Tetteh Quarshie from Fernando. The green color is still used as a symbol of the green vegetation of crop produce in Ghana. Ghana's rich forests and natural wealth provide the nation with oil, food, cash crops like cocoa, timber, sheabutter, and all kinds of food products for the country. The black star on the Ghanaian national flag is a symbol that is used to represent the emancipation of Africa and unity against colonialism.

BLACK STAR

The black star was adopted from the flag of the Black Star Line, a shipping line that was incorporated by Marcus Garvey and operated from 1919 to 1922.The black star also known as the Black Star of Africa. The majority of Ghana's cash crops are exported to other countries in exchange for physical cash. This cash is It is where the Ghana public football crew determine their epithet, the BLACK STARTS.

Actually, I don’t have any special incident with my country’s flag. I only used to draw it back in school days. Just a three rectangular boxes with a star in the middle and color it with their respective colors. Red being on top, Gold in the middle with black as the black star and green at the latter part. Due to the past World Cup, I had a gift from my dad which was my country’s shirt where all the colors are indicated.

Thank you
