Talking about electricity
electricity is the movement of electrons from one place to another through a conductor mostly a wire.
There are different types of electricity which includes AC, DC, Static Electricity, High voltage, low voltage, triangular current and pulsating current which serve different purposes and used in different ways from everyday life to industrial and advanced appliances.
I grew up calling power "nepa" and we would all scream "Up Nepa" each time the power is restored.
Some of you might not ba able to relate because you are use to uninterrupted power supply.
Well we don't have such luxury.
I call it luxury because all my life, I have wished for it.
In my country we have other source of power supply, though expensive but the situation of things leaves us with no choice.
- You can get power through the generator set. This is been powered by diesel or fuel.
This is very popular among us. - We have the power from the power company. (PHCL)
- We have the solar system. This is gradually gaining ground in the country, but still with so much limitations.
Nigeria uses two different kinds of approach to electricity billing
Prepaid meter, this refers to the type of billing you need to pay for electricity before using it and you can monitor and regulate your usage of electricity according to budget, there are no extra charges but it puts a limit to what appliances you want to use because you are cautious not to run out of credit... In this approach, you have your personal meter and you subscribe or recharge it personally without the help of other residents.
While for assumed or estimated billing, the utility company estimates a billing for you based on past consumption and sometimes they make errors which can lead to inaccurate bills and errors and incurs overpayments or underpayments as the case may be and can lead to disputes it is used where prepaid meters are not available
How would your daily life and work life be without electricity from now onwards?
Daily life works can be affected adversely without electricity in both Positive and Negative ways but mostly on the negative aspect
Most industries depend on electricity to run their Heavy machineries, and without these machineries day to day activities would have a huge fall on our economic growth and revenues.
We need electricity to power our refrigerator and preserve our foods, for businesses that depend on electricity such as Printing presses, Drycleaning, Welders and so much more.
Electricity is critical to man's daily needs even though 200 years ago it wasn't available but back then there weren't much heavy operating machineries.
Most people work from home today and they need electricity to get work done.
What kind of equipment would be required to live a hassle-free life?
Equipments needed to live a hassle-free life today would be a solar power plants. It's a cost efficient, easy to operate and install and reliable source of electricity.
Would you be able to cope with life without electricity?
I wouldn't be able to cope without electricity today because my work is dependent on electricity. I need electricity to refrigerate my food, I need electricity to iron my clothes, do my laundry, blend my foods, make coffee and so much more.

It's true, there wasn't as much machinery in use as there is now, and everything we use depends on energy or "power" as you call it.
, and in reality energy is literally power.
In your current country it is difficult to use and facilitate electricity for use, but I believe that if the world were to run out of energy, with all respects, it would not be complicated. Industrialized countries that depend on energy at all times will find it difficult to live and adapt to a darker world without light or electricity.
